(Special thanks to Lord Borg. Co-Founder of the RPG)

Space.....is a vast unknown....

Filled with infinite wonders and uncharted lanes...

Many have have explored the Galaxy...

But there is more to what has been seen....a lot more....

These are the voyages of the starship Gaia....

As it boldly goes where no one has gone before...

Star Trek: Gaia

Story:
It is the year 2382. Three years after the events with Shinzon and the Enterprise-E. The galaxy is in a state of uneasy peace. Starfleet Command had the Voyager enhancements destroyed to prevent polluting the timeline. Starfleet has decided to go back on its mission of peaceful exploration. Many available starships, that used to patrol Federation space for Dominion activity, are now exploring the Alpha Quadrant again. After a few quiet months, a great scientific discovery has been made. The USS Scientia, an Intrepid class vessel, discovered a stable wormhole at the far edge of Federation space. A probe was sent to the other side and the wormhole opens, not in another quadrant, but another galaxy. It connectes the Milky Way galaxy with the Andromeda galaxy. Starfleet has nicknamed the wormhole, "the bridge", because of it bridging both galaxies. The Federation has dispatched several ships to cross over and make first contact with a species on the other side. The other galaxy is completely unexplored and would set a precedent for the Federation. Excitement covers all edges of Federation space. This could lead to a new era of exploration. The lead ship in the small peace fleet, is the USS Gaia. These ships would make history...

Starship Data:
After the first major encounter between the Dominion and the Federation at the end of 2370 Starfleet responded to the new threat by reactivating the Defiant project and continuing development of the Sovereign project. However, it was felt that further action was needed; the Sovereign class ships were relatively resource intensive, and while the Defiants were easy to build they were also rather limited on range and endurance. It was decided to combine various technologies into the new ship. The ablative amour and quantum torpedoes which equipped the Defiant and Sovereign classes were included, as were the advanced hull geometry and warp field technology of the Sovereign and Intrepid classes.
Starfleet also decided to incorporate the separation concept into the new vessel. Many Starfleet ships have had the ability to separate their primary hull from the rest of the ship, but this has historically been an emergency measure intended to allow the engineering hull to be abandoned in the event that a warp core breach is imminent. Reconnection has generally required the services of a Starbase of dry-dock in a process which takes several days. With the Galaxy class, Starfleet took the separation process a step further. The primary and engineering hulls both had impulse engine systems, allowing them to operate as fully equipped STL spacecraft in their own right.
The engineering hull was able to use its warp drive whilst separated, not simply as an emergency measure for a few seconds or minutes but as a viable interstellar drive system. The intent was to allow the primary hull to escape a combat area with the civilians and family members whilst the engineering hull kept the enemy occupied. However, this concept was never really as successful as Starfleet wanted.
The primary hull was essentially stationary by warp drive standards, making it an easy target for an enemy which defeated the engineering hull in battle. What was needed was a ship which could split into multiple sections, each capable of independent warp speed travel. This is the technology Starfleet decided to incorporate into the new Prometheus class, which had originally existed (in a somewhat larger form) as a proposal for the experimental Pathfinder-Class Explorers. The ship which emerged from the drawing boards was capable of separating into three sections - the upper and lower engineering hulls and the saucer section. Both parts of the engineering hull had two nacelles whilst the saucer section had a small auxiliary unit which would deploy once separated.
The warp core arrangement was also unique. The efficiency of a warp core is in part dependant on its height - the longer a core is, the more accurately the matter and antimatter streams can be controlled. Starfleet had initially wanted to equip each section of the Prometheus design with a Defiant-style warp core. This is very compact at only three decks tall, but suffers from inefficiency as a result. It overcomes this by using multiple matter and antimatter streams, so achieving high fuel throughput and so high power output. This gives the core a very high fuel consumption, something considered acceptable for the short range Defiant but not for the Prometheus. To solve the problem the designers came up with a unique core design for the engineering hull. The warp core has no less than three reaction chambers along its height.
During normal operation matter is fed in at the top of the core and antimatter at the bottom, as in any normal warp core. The fuel streams pass directly through the upper and lower reaction chambers and continue down to their meeting point in the central chamber. The core thus operates in a manner similar to any standard model, achieving high efficiency through the long core design. The central reaction chamber lies on the separation plane, and once the ship splits it is shut down. In the lower engineering section a secondary matter feed just under the central chamber comes into operation, feeding deuterium down to the lower reaction core.
This process is mirrored in the upper engineering section, with an antimatter feed sending fuel up to the upper core. As a result, the combined engineering sections can operate at an efficiency level comparable to any contemporary starship, while the separated sections loose a measure of efficiency because of the shorter warp cores. The primary hull operates on a separate Defiant-style warp core when separated.
The original intent was to have the saucer serve to evacuate civilians as in the Galaxy class, but at warp speed. The idea of carrying civilians was quickly abandoned, however, and the saucer section up-gunned to match the remainder of the vessel. In separated mode the ship is thus able to attack on enemy from three different directions simultaneously, a tactic known as "multi-vector assault mode".
The development and construction of the prototype vessel took three years, and the USS Prometheus was launched in April of 2374. Initial trials went well, but during the shakedown cruise the Prometheus was stolen by Romulan operatives intent on handing the ship over to the Tal Shiar. The power of the Prometheus was graphically demonstrated during the incident. Although the prototype was still in the test phase, she was able to inflict devastating damage on a Nebula class ship and withstand a combined attack by two Defiant class Escort vessels and an Akira class cruiser. In the same battle she used multi-vector assault mode to destroy a Romulan Warbird with ease. The ship was eventually recovered with the assistance of two EMH units on board, and after some assessment of the project's security procedures the testing resumed.
The performance of the Prometheus during this accidental live-fire trial has exceeded all expectations for the ship. The ability to pack firepower little short of a Sovereign class into a ship the size of an Intrepid class offers the prospect of a prodigious increase in Starfleet's potential combat capability, and construction immediately began on other vessels of the officially commissioned Prometheus-Class.

Rules:
General Rules:
1) Do not spam. Which includes multiple posts back to back. No OOC only posts. If you make an OOC comment, you must include a post IC. Even if it is a small one.
2) Please be active. I understand if you get busy or have personal problems. Just tell me you can't post for the moment. You don't even have to tell me what the reason is. If you don't post at least once a week, I'll be forced to drop you a color. (See bottom for colors)
3) Be nice to each other. If you have a problem with another poster for some reason, tell me and I'll try and handle it.
4) Try and read the posts. I can understand if you don't want to sift through an essay of a post. If you don't want to, don't guess. PM me and I will give you a detailed summary of what has happened. I would rather avoid someone posting a post that makes no sense and contradicts other posts and then me having to tell them to edit. I honestly do not mind giving summaries.
5) If you want to post a picture of a certain action taking place, for example a Federation fleet is dropping out of warp, then please no animation pictures or a HUGE picture. If you use photobucket, which we are supposed to be doing, resize it to be smaller please. Not everyone can handle the animations and huge pictures.
6) Please do not use asteriks to define action. For example *Runs to the turbolift*. Just put "(Insert character name) runs to the turbolift."
7) Please use quotation marks when someone is speaking. It is a lot easier to differentiate thought from speaking if you use quotation marks. It doesn't need to be perfect English or anything, just something easy for everyone to read. When you post, try and consider if the other posters can make sense of it.
8) Please use italics for telepathy and non-face-to-face communications. Including combadge use. Please no more of the =/\= stuff. Thoughts should be depicted by the underline symbol.
9) Do not use emoticons please. Not that anyone should need it...
10) Please refrain from making one liner posts such as "Aye sir." and thats it. I'm not asking for a huge paragraph, but try and write "Aye sir". (Insert character name here) goes to the station and carries out the order.
11) Please post this before posting anything else -Location, specific spot-. For example, -USS Gaia, Bridge-
12) IMPORTANT RULE: No God-modding. Do not control other characters unless the said character has given permission to do so. Do not make your character extremely powerful. Everyone, including mine, must have a weakness.

GREEN = Posts regularly / New Member.
YELLOW = Posts semi-regularly.
RED = Inactive, and maybe removed.
BLUE = Excused from posting

Name: Victor J. Doyle
Rank: Admiral
HomeWorld: Earth
Year of Birth: 2319
Age: 63
Species: Human
Gender: Male
BIO: Born in London, England to a family that were descendants to nobles. As a child, he was obsessed with the Enterprise-A. He heard about the heroic crew led by James T. Kirk. Victor entered Starfleet Academy and graduated in 2337. As a cadet in the Academy, he was allowed to serve on the USS Monk, an Oberth class vessel. Viktor was trying to become an Engineer, because he was too timid to go into command. After he graduated, he served onboard the USS Babylon, an Ambassador class ship. The ship was still somewhat new to the fleet when he came onboard. He was an Engineering officer for a year. Orion Pirates ambushed the ship and tried to steal technology. The Chief Engineer was killed and Victor managed to fix the warp core in time for them to escape. He was promoted to Chief Engineer, but the battle had awoken something in him. Taking command of the Engineers and being in the life and death situation made him realize how much he wanted command. Nearly a decade went by until he took the exam for Command. After passing, he was allowed to go through the ranks accordingly. He became the First officer after the Commander was killed by an anomaly. In 2365, his Captain was promoted to Admiral and Victor took full command of the USS Babylon. The ship went on to make several first contacts, fought Romulan, Klingon, and Orion pirates, and brave through anomalies. Victor reveled in his command and vowed that he would never give it up. He kept command all the way into the Dominion War. During the war, he was assigned to defend Federation strongholds at the edge of Federation space. At the age of 56, he led his ship in the final battle against the Dominion. His ship, old by now, managed to survive, but not without heavy damage. Victor kept turning promotions down, because he never wanted to leave his ship. After the war, and losing most of his friends, he reluctanctly accepted. He now serves as an Admiral on Earth, but for making so many succesful first contacts and diffusing bad situations, he was also a diplomat for Starfleet Command. When the wormhole was discovered, he was assigned to the USS Gaia to make first contact with an alien species in the Andromeda Galaxy. Victor jumped at the chance to be on a starship again....

Name: Michael Mabius
Rank: Captain
Position: Commanding officer, USS Gaia
Home World: Terra Nova
Year of Birth: 2340
Age: 42
Species: Novan (Term for Humans raised on Terra Nova)
Gender: Male
BIO: Born in 2340 on Terra Nova to Jake and Sarah Mabius,. His father was an important Person in the Novan Cargo Service (NCS), who has his own ship. He was almost always on it as his mother also worked on the ship. When he was five, he started learning the in system routs of the ship. He also learned the names of near by constellations and stars. He learned of Starfleet when he was six years old, when he saw some officers on a planet in the system. By the time he was ten, he had already tinkered around with things on the ship, including the helm. At age twelve, his father made him the ships helm officer. When he was 15, despite his fathers objections of wanting him to day and work for the NCS, he entered Starfleet academy. Four years later, he graduated and was posted as a back up helm officer on the USS Incurs. There, he served for 4 years and eventually became a Lieutenant, Junior Grade. A posting as Chief Helm Officer became available on the Goran, a vessel constructed by the NCS at Terra Nova, but operated by Starfleet. Even though it was a freighter that operated within the system, and the surrounding system, Mabius took the position to be closer to home. Two years later, he got his first taste in command, when the Goran was attacked by an unidentified vessel. The Command crew was killed in the initial attack, and Mabius, was the highest ranking officer on the bridge. He took command while also staying at the helm. He played cat and mouse with the attacking ship for 7 hours until help arrived. In recognition of his actions, he was awarded the Starfleet Medal of Honor, and promoted to Lieutenant. Liking the sound of command, Mabius transferred back to the academy to take on some extra classes in the command field. Two years later, he finished the classes, and comes back to the Goran as the ships commander upon the request of the Terra Nova government. He served there for four years when he was then transferred to the USS Oak, a science vessel, as the ships first officer. Two years later, he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander when he managed to free the ship from a Gas Giant, in which the ship had become trapped. At this time, war had broken out with the Dominion. The war engulfed the entire alpha quadrant, and the Oak was caught in a battle in which the vessel had been damaged beyond repair in a battle with a JemHadar ship. Mabius was transferred the USS Atlantic, an Akira class ship, as the vessels First Officer. He was promoted one year later to the rank of Commander after using similar helm maneuverings when the Atlantic was under attack by four HemHadar ships. The battle had killed the Helm Officer in position, and Mabius took over. This allowed the Atlantic to escape destruction. One year later, the battle of Cardassia, Mabius was there on the Atlantic. When the captain had been injured in the battle, Mabius took command of the ship. He was able to get the crew to work with what little left that worked, and assisted the Defiant and several other vessels on the final run towards Cardassia. Along with the rest of the officers at the battle, He was given a Starfleet Medal of Honor. He was also promoted to Captain, and Given the USS Archer. He was still in command in 2379, when the ship was one of seven that were gathered in sector 1045 near the Romulan Neutral Zone. His were to assist the Enterprise-E in battle against the Scimitar, a power Reman starship. However, his ship did not participate in the battle as it occurred in the Bassen Rift. Three years later, when the Archer was decommissioned, he received command of the USS Gaia, a Prometheus class ship. The Gaia was to join two other vessels in a First contact by use of a newly discovered wormhole that would take them to the Andromeda galaxy.

Name: Ferin Kel
Rank: Commander
Position: First Officer
HomeWorld: Trill
Year of Birth: 2354
Age: 29
Species: Joined Trill
Gender: Male

BIO: Ferin was raised on Trill in a federation embassy with his father, a diplomat, and mother, a seamstress. He was a curious child, with a more-than-slightly rebellious streak. He was, for all his brashness, a brilliant individual, and noted as such by his peers. When he was 16 he was admitted into Starfleet medical, having seen three of his friends die in a single night from drug overdoses, performed in back alleys. He was determined to take care of people--rebellious or no--and keep them from harming themselves or others. Just after he graduated at the age of 22, his father was lost in a Dominion skirmish, presumed dead. Ferin had taken various command classes--his teachers hoped it would level out his firery lust for excitement. After four years as CMO, Ferin pursued Command with a vengeance. Now, at the age of 29, hes made commander, and a position of first officer aboard the Gaia. He misses his field, but is determined to protect anyone that he can, as he once had, voluntarily, in the backstreets of his home world.

Name: Marvin Halliwell
Rank: Lieutenant Junior Grade
Position: Chief Medical officer
HomeWorld: Unknown
Year of Birth: Unknown
Age: 5
Species: Hologram
Gender: Male
Bio: Marvin Halliwell is a true one of a kind hologram. He was created by Scott Luke, a collegue of Louis Zimmerman, on a space station. Luke was a brilliant and creative and wanted to make a hologram that can be more than what he was "made" to do. Marvin Halliwell was his first program and his best creation. Scott Luke was a firm pro-holograhic activists. He was inspired to create the new programs when he met the EMH from Voyager. Scott presented the plans to Starfleet, with the backing of Zimmerman. Starfleet did not approve of the holograms and were not big on the holographic rights. They rejected his plan and sent him away. Scott was tired of holograms being treated so poorly all over the galaxy and decided that change would be needed. He stowed onboard the USS Gaia and posed as an engineer, upgrading the EMH Mark II onboard. He replaced the EMH Mark II with the MHH "Marvin Halliwell Hologram" program. Scott also placed some items that were important for the program. He wanted the Federation to realize how important holograms really were and that they were good people as well. He took the EMH Mark II and left the ship.
Marvin has more than the standard hologram. He has a sense of humor, a happy person personality, and aslo has many creative ways of treating patients. Unlike an EMH, he can not be shut off through commands. He has complete control. Starfleet has studied the Doctor's mobile emitter and created primitve versions of them for other holograms. This must be worn as a belt, instead of a small device on the arm. It allowed Marvin to leave the ship and transfer his program from the ship to the alternative power source. Unlike the mobile emitter, it MUST be charged every 24 hours or it will lose power. Marvin is the future of holograms...

Name: Micteth-Son of Udas
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Position: Chief Engineer
HomeWorld: Kronos
Year of Birth: 2353
Age: 29
Species: Klingon

His father was tried, by the Council, which laid a exile apon Udas, Micteth's father, fled Klingon space, pulled a few favors with friends in the Federation, and was able to secure a place on earth. Micteth grew up from the age of ten in the federation, his father teaching him the ways of the warrior, hoping one day Micteth would return to Kronos and restore his fathers honor. Micteth almost lost all faith from his father when he joined Starfleet, He quickly grew in rank until he was stationed on the Gaia.

Name: Guillaume (Guy) Latendresse
Rank: Ensign
Position: Hazard Team Member
Home World: Earth
Year of Birth: 2362
Age: 21
Species: Human
Gender: Male
BIO: Guy has quite often been referred to by some as quite unstable. Many of his teachers through the academy were in fact, surprised he managed to graduate and with high marks at that simply do to the numerous suspensions he had received for fighting with fellow students. He was quite dominant in the physical aspects of the academy and grew quite reputable for his records set in the battle simulations. He is noted as a first man in, last man out individual. He is a quick thinking and has good ingenuity in the field of battle. His quick reflexes and impulses also noted him as an excellent manual pilot in small ships. While he excellent in areas like that, he was quick content to trudge along through basic quantum physics with an average grade, nearly failed basic medical and was often told that if given a command position he would be the only one on his team to make it out alive due to his suicide style of combat. He has a good grasp of computers and can over ride systems and computers but ask him to repair something and you will be met with a blank stare. He had a slightly above average in the sciences and often enjoyed mixing substances he was told not to ever mix. Several labs had to be cancelled due to evacuation. He stayed past the required time in academy to take courses to become a member of a hazard team. He took the course for the full two years required. During those two years he became quite a well known to the medical staff for putting many patients in their beds along with having numerous visits of his own. He graduated head of his class and had one of his most notable quotes while on the stage. He received his diploma from the head of the academy, looked at it then said, What am I going to do with this, awe my enemies with my hard work? Give me a phaser instead.
While his track record may be polluted with suspensions and notes on behavior, it also showed his numerous awards, records, accuracy and combat capability. It took several months of numerous applications before it was finally accepted. Most captains did not wish to deal with his attitude and possible insubordination, but finally he was accepted as a member to the USS Gaia as a member of its hazard team.

Name: Wilson Burford
Rank: Ensign
Position: Chief Astrometrics
Homeworld: Earth
Year of Birth: 2354
Age: 28
Species: Human
Gender: Male
BIO: Wilson was born on the USS Tchaikovsky to two Starfleet parents. As a child he lived aboard the Tchaikovsky, Starbase 451, and then the USS Remington. In 2370, he went to Zefram Cochrane University on Alpha Centauri and studied the sciences, particularly physics. His mother, Lieutenant Commander Kara Yeats, was killed in action during a skirmish with the Jem'Hadar in 2373. His father, Commander Kennedy Burford, retired from active duty after the Dominion War and now serves as an aide on Earth. Upon obtaining a doctorate in quantum physics in 2378, Wilson entered Starfleet Academy. He quickly excelled at his academic studies and also joined the Academy's hoverball team. Friends characterise Wilson as "subdued but passionate," whereas the Starfleet pyschological analysis calls Wilson an "artistic scientist who is intelligent but judgemental". Wilson does have the tendency to become deeply invested in his opinions, even if they are wrong. Wilson graduated Starfleet Academy in 2382 at the top of his class and had the pick of the fleet for his assignment. He chose the USS Gaia as a state-of-the-art ship with a bold new mission.

-USS Gaia, Corridor-

The Prometheus class vessel was inside of a space dock at the edge of Federation space. Admiral Victor Doyle walked through the clean white corridors of the ship. A PADD was in his hands, stating the formal protocals for first contact with an alien species. He had it memorized but carried it with him all the time. It was more of a formal gesture than anything else. Victor had never been aboard a Prometheus class vessel. It was larger than what he was used to. He could remember when an Ambassador class was massive. Various officers walked past him, all of them walking stiff when they saw him. A smile crossed his face. He enjoyed creating such tension. A Starfleet ship is meant to be run as formally and strict as possible. A Bridge? That was something different. Much to his chagrin, he learned that he was not in command of the vessel. A captain was already in command, Captain Mabius. Starfleet assigned him only for an ambassadorial role. He was hoping to take command of a starship again and it was pulled away from him. Victor was glad that he at least was on a starship and off of Vulcan, where he had been serving for a year in the Federation embassay. It was the most boring planet he had ever gone to. He vowed that he would never go back there. The Gaia's first mission was to make first contact with a species from the Andromeda galaxy. Victor was not impressed. Starfleet made a big deal about everything. He remembered when first contact with this non-corporeal species on...

"Are you lost sir?" An Ensign asked him.

Victor turned to the officer. It was a young girl. Another young officer. It was like this ship was filled with children.

"No Ensign," He said, "I know my way around here. I would hope you know your way to your station."

The Ensign nodded her head quickly.

"Yes sir." She said quickly before rushing off.

Victor smiled inwardly. He loved keeping the officers on their toes. Starfleet discovered this new wormhole, nicknamed the "bridge", and it was the only thing the pointy eared natives of Vulcans would discuss. Apparently it was the same way all over Federation space. What was interesting about it was that it led to an entire different galaxy. The only species that the Federation met from the Andromeda galaxy were the Kelvans. More wonders awaited the Federation elsewhere. Wasn't the Milky Way galaxy big enough? It wasn't even close to being fully explored and they set their sights on another galaxy? It was disgusting and in Victor's day it was different. It wasn't about the journey but the crew. He entered a turbolift.

"Bridge." He ordered.

Victor wanted to see where he would take command...no...where he would observe.

-Space Dock, Docking port-

A paranoid man in the Starfleet uniform of an Engineer looked around. He carried a case with him. No one was near the docking port. The man, Scott Luke, crossed over to the ship. He couldn't believe he was about to do this. Scott walked through the doors and was onboard the USS Gaia. He rushed past various officers, keeping his head low, towards Sickbay.

"This is for the better." He thought to himself.

He was going to make damn sure that Starfleet realize that holograms were people too. Especially...the MHH. Scott entered a turbolift and called for Sickbay. He made sure to arrive before the Chief Medical Officer. A man who was still inside the space station, he double checked that. Scott rushed out of the Turbolift and walked towards Sickbay. A Catian officer nodded his head to Scott. The timid man returned the nod and ran into Sickbay. He looked around and saw...no one.

"Yes!" He said, "Perfect..."

A head popped up from behind a biobed.

"Hello?" She asked.

Scott jumped up in surprise.

"Uh..." He stammered, "Hel-lo. Who are you?"

A young woman looked at him. She was a Bajoran. He saw she was an Ensign was obviously the nurse.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

He held up his case.

"I am here to...um....repair the EMH Mark II you have onboard," He said, "It has been reported to have glitches and I...um...here to repair it."

She nodded her head to him.

"Well I have to drop my things at my quarters," She said, "I'll return shortly."

He nodded his head as she walked away. Luke quickly looked back at her.

"Oh wait!" He yelled at her, "Please make SURE to tell your Chief Medical officer to test the M...EMH. It is important."

She nodded and walked away. Scott walked to a console and opened the case. Various objects were inside, including a strange belt.

"Computer seal doors." He ordered.

The computer acknowledged him and obeyed. Scott pulled out a data chip and inserted it into the console. He pressed a button and the EMH Mark II appeared.

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency." It said.

Scott looked up at him.

"Um," He said, "You're...being transfered."

The EMH raised his hand to protest but he shimmered and another hologram took his place. A hologram all in black, with a line of blue across his shoulder.

"Welcome to your new ship," He said, "MHH."

Scott nodded his head sadly.

"Unfortunetly they did," He said, "You may not like this but...I'm putting you on this ship without their knowledge."

He twiddled his thumbs.

"Its time Starfleet realize that you're just like me," He said, "And you can show this crew that. Prove it to them."

Scott waved his hand around Sickbay.

"You'll be here for now," He said, "Instead of the holography lab."

~USS Gaia, Captain's ready Room~

Michael Mabius, the Gaia's captain stood, staring out the windo. He could see the space port busy with the traffic of trade, transfers and other things. Mabius spoke out. He was not talking to anyone but the air. He was soing a log entery.

"... Starfleet has dispatched the Gaia to act as security. We will be going to 'The Bridge', a newly discovered wormhole that seemeingly links to the Andromeda Galaxy. I feel as if we're moving to fast. We have so much of our galaxy to explore. Still many races to meet. I feel as if more analzing should be done. There's has been work on it. Vulcans, Bolians, Bajorians, Humans. Then again. We are supposedly explorers. Our mission is 'to seek out new life, and new civilizations', perhaps this is just the next step. Using the wormhole, now, or later. It will sill be used. I guess establashing relations with the Andromeda now, is a good thing. To go aroud the wormhole like it didnt exsist would be to weird. What if we did that with the Bajoran wormhole? Would the Dominion War have been avoided? Perhaps. Then, if we had ignored the wormhole, where would Bajor be today?...."

Lieutenent Commander Carth Onasi, Chief Tactical/Security Officer, entered the bridge. He looked around found the Captain. He walked over to him. "Captain Mabius?" he said, walking to him, reaching out his hand. "Lieutenent Commander Carth Onasi, Chief Tactical/Security officer for the Gaia.

(RM? Lord Borg is in his Ready Room, not Bridge. As he stated right above his post. )

-USS Gaia, Sickbay-

Scott nodded his head in agreement with the photonic being.

"I know," He said looking at the doors, "I have to go."

He walked towards a medical cabinet and pulled out a drawer. His hands went into the kit and took out the various items, including a belt, a power cell, and a charger.

"Remember what I told you about the belt?" He said, "EVERY 24 hours. I've given you 5 power cells. Which will of course allow you to be out for 30 hours instead of 24 for emergencies. Once a power cell is used, it can not be used again. Ok?"

-USS Gaia, Bridge-

Victor stepped of the turbolift and looked around. He saw various officers rushing about, preparing for the departure. The Admiral wanted to find the Captain but was unsure of where he was. He tapped his combadge.

"Admiral Doyle to Captain Mabius." He said.

"...I ultimatly look foward to the mission--"

Mabius was cut off by the com call. He spoke to the computer.

"Computer, pause recording."

The computer chimed as Mabius taped his combadge.

"Captain Mabius here, what can I do for you Admiral Doyle?"

An Ensign stood straight when he saw the Admiral.

"Admiral on deck!" He said.

The other officers looked up in surprise and stiffened. Victor ignored the show.

"Meet me on the bridge...now." He ordered.

Victor was early on boarding. He was meant to come onboard the next morning, which is why the Captain did not meet him.

-USS Gaia, Sickbay-

Scott watched his creation deactivate. The MHH would be activated by the Chief Medical Officer soon enough. He turned and rushed out of Sickbay after ordering the doors to be opened. Scott ran right into the Doctor. It was a Denobulan.

"Excuse me." He said politely, helping Scott up.

Scott got up and muttered an apology. He turned and ran towards a turbolift which would lead him back to the docking port. He had done his "damage". The Denobulan shook his head.

"Strange fellow..." He muttered.

The young officer, Guillaume Latendresse (commonly referred to as Guy), stepped onto the ship via the station. He had with him his bag of belongings and a phaser rifle both strapped across his back. In his had he held a pastry that he purchased on the station on his way to the ship. He was hungry and had followed his noise to the store with the sweetest scent. As he walked through the halls looking for the turbolift so he could get to the deck with his designated crew bunk on it. Guy sighed. He was going to be rooming with many other people, not something that he looked forwards to.

Guy reached the turbolift and as it opened a young female ensign stepped off and walked out into the halls. Guy looked back at her as she walked away before stepping onto the turbolift then took another bite of his pastry, finishing it off as the doors closed on the turbolift. It went down rather quickly to the designated deck, deck 4, and once the doors opened he stepped off. Guy found the room rather quickly. He entered and was greeted by several of the other ensigns. Guy just gave a curt nod and continued on his way to his bunk. He threw his bag onto it and began to walk out.

"Not even going to unpack?" another young ensign asked. He had red epaulets, most likely a helm officer.

"No," Guy replied simply as he was walking but the young ensign stepped in his way as he tried to continue the conversation.

"Why not? We're all going to be bunking together for who knows how long. This gives us all a good chance to get to know each other, make some friends by talking as we unpack!" The young ensign continued enthusiatically.

"I'm not particularly feeling in a 'buddy buddy' mood right now. I'd rather find the armoury and make friends with several of the weapons or the guys who can give me access to them," Guy responded frankly with a now apparent French accent.

"Aww, come on now. You'll have plenty of time to do that later," the ensign pushed on.

"Just as I'll have plenty of time to 'make friends' later considering we're in the same large bunk. Now please move so I can get by," Guy said irritably.

"What field are you in?" the ensign asked, ignoring Guy's desire for him to move.

"The Hazard Team, now will you please move?" Guy replied once more.

"Really? Sounds dangerous. I much prefer the safety of a helm console than to run into battle head first," the young ensign remarked, "Why'd that interest you, anyways?"

Guy sighed and pushed the ensign out of his way with enough force that he fell then walked out of the bunk after having received several harsh glares and yells. He emerged in the halls and walked some ways before locating a map. He discovered the location of the armour and quickly made his way to the turblolift once more. After arriving on deck 5 Guy stepped off the turbolift and located the weapons locker. he entered the room and found it empty, so naturally he grabbed some weapons he had rarely seen in the academy and began to thoroughly examine them.

Mabius replied to the admiral.

"Aye sir."

Michael stood for a second, compleatating what just occured. The admiral seemed upset.

"Computer, sore Log for further recording later."

The computer chimed. Mabius left his ready room and went on the bridge.

Bridge

Mabius went to the Admiral.

"Something you need Admiral Doyle?"

-USS Gaia, Bridge-

Doors swished open and Mabius entered the bridge. Doyle gave a curt nod to him and walked towards the center chair.

"Captain," He said, "I expect a report from every station before we leave. I want to know that every crewman is onboard and accounted for."

Doyle took a seat in the Captain's chair and crossed his leg over the other. He looked back at the Captain.

"Understood?" He asked.

-USS Gaia, Armoury-

An officer, with a gold undershirt, looked up at Guy. He smiled when he saw the officer familiarizing himself with the weapons. The officer stood in the center of the room, surrounded by a large console.

"Like what you see?" He said, "There is a training holodeck right though those doors for the Hazard Team. Want to fight the Borg in the Delta Quadrant or Jem'Hadar in the Gamma? Perhaps infiltrate a Romulan moon?"

Mabius couldn't help but notice that Doyle invited himself to sit in his chair. Whatever, that didnt matter at the moment.

"Understood perfectly sir. I want the same thing. That's why I have schedualed a senior staff briefing before we get underway."

Mabius stood at attention. An admiral was on his bridge, despite being in his chair. Mabius respected the chain of command. This was no differnt. Heck, the Admiral in his chair was a man who had a long, and busy carrere.

Doyle looked over at the Chief Tactical officer. He didn't say anything to him. The Admiral tapped his combadge.

"All senior staff report to the observation lounge now." He ordered.

Doyle stood up and walked past the Captain and Chief Tactical officer without a word. He entered the observation lounge.

~USS Gaia, Bridge~

Mabius opened his mouth to protest, but it was to late. Mabius turned to the officer that walked onto the bridge. He looked at him blankly for a moment, then rembered the name.

"Oh! of course! Commander Onasi. I've been expecting you. Uh..."

Mabius looked back to the observation lounge doors, then back to Onasi.

"I'll give you some time to get what you need together for the report. Ten minutes max."

Mabius spoke up.

"That goes for the rest of you, ten minutes to make your report to the department head, and if youre a department head, you have ten minutes to report to the Briefing."

Mabius turned and walked to the observation lounge. He stoped just before the door would open. He looked back at Onasi.

"Commander? could you pass that on to the rest of the staff? The bridge, such as it is...."

Mabius took a quick glance. Final touches were still being done, people were still boarding.

"..Is yours."

Mabius turned and entered the Observation lounge. He looked at Admiral Doyle.

"Sir, with all due respect, the breifing was orgionaly set for two hours from now."

Admiral Doyle sat in the head seat, opposite to the Captain's head seat. He leaned against it comfertably and motioned for Mabius to sit down.

"I'm well aware of that Captain," He said, "But I like to be ahead of schedule. It leaves room for mistakes wouldn't you agree?"

The old man placed both arms on the arm rest of the chair.

"Much more comfertable than my old ship," He noted, "We...you have quite the ship Captain."

Mabius nodded.

"Of course sir, I agree compleatly, and thank you. She is a nice ship indeed. Although..."

Mabius looked around.

"This class seems so.... Bare, clean if you can under stand what i mean."

Mabius dared himself to walk to his chair, he faced the admiral.

"I set the breifing two hours from now because we dont have a full crew yet. I suppose, this could let us all work together and get the finder details worked out."

Mabius leaned foward, almost whispering.

"Tell me something, how did you manage to keep the Babylon together in the battle of Cardassia?"

Admiral Doyle looked up at the Chief Helmsman. He motioned for the officer to take a seat.

"Welcome Lieutenant," He said, "Please sit down."

The Briton had, had dealings with the Betazoids when he went to a conference. They were a good people, but not as prominent during his youth on Starfleet ships.

Lord Borg wrote:

Doyle smiled and leaned forward towards the Captain whom sat on the opposite side. He loved telling stories about his youth.

"Now that is an interesting story," He said, "The Babylon was older, but still packed a punch. We were assigned to break through a Breen line with a Galaxy class, Excelsior class, and an Steamrunner class. It was tough. We charged the line and forced our way through it. Then we...."

-USS Gaia, Turbolift-

The Denobulan Doctor was walking heading towards the observation lounge. He held his report under one arm. The older alien did not expect to make one in such haste. He had just finished examining the last officer before he heard the call. His combadge chirped.

"Nurse Lori to Doctor Rex." She called.

The Denobulan tapped his combadge.

"Rex here," He said, "Go ahead."

The Bajoran nurse quickly continued.

"I just wanted to inform you that when you return we need to check the EMH," She reported, "Apparently it was damaged, but was repaired. Lori out."

The Doctor frowned.

"What?" He said to no one, "Who said it was damaged...?"

The doors opened and let him out inside the bridge. He crossed over to the observation lounge. The Admiral was in the middle of telling some story.

"....suffice it to say," The Admiral finished, "We were forced to ram the massive Jem'Hadar battlecruiser to stop it from attacking the Defiant."

The Doctor smiled at everyone.

"Chief Medical officer Rex reporting for duty." He announced.
