PostTue Dec 06, 2005 12:05 am    John Titor: An Interesting "Person?"

I was doing some research for a homework assignment in Wikipedia and clicked on 2015. I then found something interesting about this guy name John Titor.
Quote:
John Titor, a man who posted on a series of time travel forums in 2001, claiming to be from 2036, predicted that there would be a third world war leading to nuclear war in 2015, causing over three billion deaths worldwide. He also described a very different world following the event.

I clicked on John Titor and got to this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Titor

Take a look at it. Have you heard about this? What do you think? Personally, I think there's a possibility that this is all true, judging from some of his accurate statements that are compelling, but what do you think about this? Is it a hoax? What say you?

I think it's a hoax. Yes, some of these things fit a little bit with what's going on now--mostly liberally biased stuff, but he "forgets" so many things that I think it can easily be proven to be false. He talks nothing about 9/11, even though it was supposedly 2000/2001. He talks nothing about Katrina or the tsunami. He talks nothing about Iran. And yet now his supposed "mom" wrote a book about what she "learned" from him and stuff, which leads me to believe that the guy was just trying to gain enough "credibility" to make money on a bood.
I think it would make a good movie, though. Have Scott Bakula start as John Titor

It wasn't something Wikipedia just made up, though. It was another online thing back in 2000/2001.

Yeah, it says a guy came forward and said it was him and some college friends pulling a hoax. That's probly what it was.

I read that in the Wikipedia article. However, the guy didn't get the original screenname right, so I don't think it was him that pulled the hoax, though. But I'm quite sure it was someone trying to make money off of a book, ya know?
Anyways...yeah, I think a movie should be made about it! And I think Archer should star in it, for some reason

Makes for an interesting read but i have no doubt its a hoax. Anyone could post on a message board saying there from 2038.

I'm in fact from 2085 and am using a time portal to connect to the internet

Well, he made several "predictions," a few of which have somewhat been proven true, which makes some believe him to have been telling the truth--although I would, also, disagree.
