He was adored by millions of fans for his role in The Karate Kid and on the television series Happy Days. Services were held Wednesday for actor and Las Vegas resident Pat Morita.
The service at Palm Mortuary on Eastern near Robindale was attended by Morita's friends and co-stars such as Ralph Macchio and Anson Williams. Morita died at his Las Vegas home of natural causes.
In lieu of flowers, Morita's family has asked that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children. As a child, Morita developed spinal tuberculosis and spent a lot of time at the Shriners Hospital in San Francisco. He credited the doctors there for curing his condition.

I heard about his death...
Its sad. He was a good actor and seemed like a nice man. It seemed like he conquered a lot in his life.
RIP the ULTIMATE martial arts master

Quote: | Hundreds Remember Pat Morita's Life
Friends and family said goodbye Wednesday to Pat Morita, the longtime actor who was a Las Vegas resident. Morita died on Thanksgiving Day from kidney problems.
Among those attending his service was Ralph Macchio who played Daniel opposite Morita's Mr. Miyagi in the "Karate Kid" movies. Macchio gave an emotional tribute to his co-star calling him a friend and mentor both on and off the screen.
Macchio said, "I had the privilege and honor to work alongside Pat creating the most memorable moments of my career and life. Moments that are remembered around the world to this day."
Morita was also hailed as a pioneer in the entertainment industry. He was one of the first Asian Americans to do standup comedy, the first to have his own TV series and to garner an Oscar nomination.
Pat Morita is survived by his wife and three daughters.
