From 1st September to election day Kerry was in the lead in SIX separate polls. Bush was in the lead with SIXTY FOUR polls. and 8 were dead even. With likely voters, which is the more accurate that of registered voters

If you go by the registered voters polls from 1st Sept. 12 go for Kerry, 23 go for Bush and 5 are dead even. That's still a majority for bush

The Secretary of State's chief of staff? I doubt he'd lie or exaggerate on something like this.

It may have been exageration, however. People leave office and have their own agendas. Everyone does. Why did he leave the administration, anyway? That could be part of it, too. I'll give the Vice-President of the United States the benefit of the doubt, especially on something as serious as this. He may be right and telling the whole truth, but if he is, maybe there's some spinning bias in the article too. After all, it IS CNN.
I can tell, though, that CNN is trying to put the blame on the leadership either way. They have been. There's more to it than meets the eye.

He left the administration because the Secretary of State left, apparently. There's a spoils system, I'm sure Condi woud have put who she wanted in that position, no matter what.

I don't see what his agenda could be, he supports Bush, just not the VP, and it's not as if he'd be running for office.

I don't see how bias could be put on a direct quote, personally. But I'm sure you can see whatever you want if you look at something hard enough.
