PostTue Oct 18, 2005 4:46 pm    Fox News or CNN?

Which one do you watch?

Both are good, and interesting to watch, but I find Fox News more appealing. It's hard to say why exactly, I just prefer Fox's production values and way of reporting the news and offering opinions.

EDIT - Two votes for Fox News. I wonder how this poll will go.

I prefer Fox. I also like their method of reporting...and I trust those doing so. Giraldo (sp?), Neil Cavuto, O'Reilly, Greta Sustern...very good journalists. They do get repetitive if you listen too long, but really, that's just the news. I also appreciate the loads of free video they offer, me lacking cable.

Good points, Syd. Yes, I just find Fox more appealing, a little lighter, and fun when they need to be (news can be fun too, folks).

I especially enjoy their economic segments... I don't recall the name of the English guy, but he's very good. The way they set up the economics debates is very comprehensable (to me), and I usually come away learning a lot. I don't usually do so with CNN...of course, I also watch it less, when I have access to a television from which to do so.

Yes, Fox News can be educational. Of course, self-education is the most important thing, but you can learn a lot from the news, provided you don't keep too open a mind (in my opinion, minds that are too open will believe anything).

Fox is more entertaining, but if I want to get news quickly and just get the facts I go to CNN.

One point I forgot to make - the women on Fox are so beautiful.

I prefer CNN over Fox because I like the way CNN.com is formatted more than I do FoxNews.com.

Interesting. Sky News is good, but I find BBC News 24 to be boring.

Only watch it once a day, and go through all the interactive stuff. Sometimes swtich it on for interviews, and I like the techy bits in the early hours of the morning

Fox is overly biased. I either catch a few minutes of CNN or I watch the Daily Show, Yes, the Daily Show. While it's mostly comedy, I'd rather hear John Stuart joking then some Reporter who's supposed to be "fair and non biased" Haul off on a person who doesn't fit into their views.

I don't think there's a news channel in the world that is 100% impartial. But some are more impartial than others, in my opinion.

out of those two it would be CNN by far. I only watch Fox if i have no other source for news. last resort.

I watch BBC News the most though and their great website, THE best news website IMO

I watch CNN more often, mainly because they had a radio station out before Fox, and I would listen to it, so I knew all of the broadcasters.
I don't really "trust" any of them, though, that's why I like to look things up on my own,

I don't "trust" any of them 100%. Like anything, news channels and newspapers are businesses who exist to make a profit, and this doesn't always make them impartial.

On TV, Fox News. On the internet CNN.

Fox News is great, but their website is aweful.

I love how Liberals complain that Fox news olny adheres to Republicans. God forbid that we get a source of news only for us. Thats terrible!

I watch all news channels. Out of those two though, Fox definitly. More interesting. CNN is so boring.

The W3C agrees, if only slightly

I watch neither; I normally don't even pay attention to the CBC. Since the labour dispute, I've been very ignorant of news. I should go back to updating Wikipedia or something or resubscribe to the CBC's RSS feed. CBC News: The Hour returns on November 7th, though. Yay!
