Mon Oct 17, 2005 7:10 pm The next Tory leader (UK) |
|
I'm a man, but I'm disappointed to see no female candidates for the Tory leadership here.
Margaret Thatcher was PM from 1979-1990, and despite some flaws, she did do some good with this country, in my opinion. I think it's about time we had another female Prime Minister.
Gender shouldn't come into it, but there are things only a woman can understand. I just believe, with the UK being what it is in the 21st century, that we're long overdue for a female perspective. I think it's time we had a female Prime Minister (providing, of course, she has what the job requires).
Please feel free to disagree. It's just how I feel.

As they only have a total of 17 female MPs out of about 100 it is highly unlikely that a woman would run.

Yes, but it's not impossible.
