Tell that to the folks in Kashmir. To them, the sky has indeed fallen.
In Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, there are at least 12,000 dead--and many of them are the professional people who would rebuild the region. The doctors, judges, teachers, engineers.
The region is remote and mountainous--many villages aren't accessible by road even in normal times. Add to that there are millions homeless and living in tents. And winter is coming.
And a Himalayan winter is like nothing we know in the States.
