Probably they did end it at a good time, but I still wish it could have been longer.

It would be cool if they could do something like they did with Generations and maybe combine atleast 3 or 4 crews in a movie.

I would have loved to have seen TNG get to 10 seasons.

Nope, unfortunately, they had to end it. The series was starting to leave it's prime, and it would have just went downhill. I mean, look what happended to the X-Files after season 7.

It could have gone on for a lot longer. Even if they started to run out of ideas they would still have the fanatic's ratings.

I agree that it was a very good stopping place, however nemesis was a bad way for it to end, with data dying and such

^^^But in all actuality, Data didn't die. There was that memory transfer... Trek said, (Before the movie came out) "We ended it in such a way that it could be the last TNG movie, but if we decided to do another one, we could."
I get what they mean now. Yes Data sacrificed himself, but they left it open for B4 to basically turn into Data.
TNG ended b/c they had DS9 out on tv, and they were creating Voyager. They said they had a hard enough time managing 2 shows, let alone a brand new 3rd one coming out. That's part of the reason TNG went off the air...but not all. It was getting old, and I can see how it would have started to go downhill.

TNG was the worst Trek. The shine off Piccy's head was to much 4 us to handle.

but that whas not a reason to end it now because the could waited with the end so that they could use all ideas for the show so that we had more view and they could end up the show more nicely then they did now

damrod, please try to refrain from double posting.
TNG had a good long run. It COULD have kept going, but it would have been pointless. They should have ended the show with us wanting more, not wanting it off the air. Which they did end up doing. We all want more and that shows they ended it just right.

Ya, this is true^^^
But they also really only took it off the air because they had Voyager in the mix and they said, "We are already having enough trouble with 2 shows on the air at one time, could you imagine 3?" So, they didn't want 3 shows at once, thus ending TNG. But if Voyager wouldn't have been thought of, (Thank God it WAS,) then if I am understanding what the producers said, TNG would have continued on the air.

I think that 7 years is a good run for any show, and if it lasts too long, that's usually when it doesn't do well. I don't think TV shows should last longer than 6 or 7 seasons, no matter how sad I am to see them go. I thought I was going to start crying during the last episode of TNG and then the last episode of Voyager too. But yeah, TNG continued enough with the movies and it was a good edition to add O'brian then later on, Worf to DS9. DS9 seemed more interesting with Worf on.

Well...
A couple of months ago, on Attack of the Show (G4), one of the writers of TNG was on. He said that he wished that TNG had ONE more season...He thought that they had to rush All Good Things...
I would have loved for it to go on for ONE more season. I don't think that Voyager, which didn't come out for TWO years, would become a distraction. I really think that they could have just pushed All Good Things to Season 8. I would have loved for TNG to have done more with the Borg...or...they could have developed Beverly and La Forge some more...My two favorites...
