Chapter one

Captain Kathryn Janeway was sipping her coffee black when the automatic door of her quaters chimed.

"Come in," said Janeway slowly while reading everything documented by starfleet about the borg, as she did not want Voyager to be defenceless the next time they engage in battle. The automatic doors opened and Chakotay, her first officer, strided in and said, "Captain, i have finished realigning the EPS Relays.....," he paused for a moment.

"Well, commander, is there anything else you would like to say?" Janeway asked.

"Permission to speak freely."

"Granted."

"This is the fifth borg attack this week....Voyager have suffered a great deal of damage and personally, i don't think she'll survive another round with them."

"What are you saying?" Janeway asked Chakotay half knowing what he was up to.

"I suggest a change of tactics."

"What are you suggesting?" asked Janeway.

"Maybe we should stop thinking like starfleet.....i have a few marquis tricks up my sleeves."

"We can't just abandon our federation principles." Janeway said confidently.

"Dismissed."

Chakotay walked out of her quarters and went to engineering to help B' Elanna get the warp core back online.....

Chapter 2

Janeway was on edge and it seemed that it had affected the crew as well.
Approaching engineering, she asked if tfhe warp core was back online.

�Not yet captain� B�Elanna said briefly

�How long,� Janeway asked impatiently

�At least two weeks.�

�Well, you�ve got 5 days, when we engage the Borg again, I don�t expect to be Warpless.

�But captain-�

�I�ve made my decision, this is no time for a debate.� Said ,Captain Janeway forcefully.

�Red Alert, all senior officers report to your posts immediately.� Announced Chakotay.

B�Elanna quickly went back to repairing the warp core.
When Janeway was walking on her way back to the bridge, an EPS Conduit exploded in front of her.
