I agree. If the Dominion had been mentioned numerous times but never shown, their apperance would have been better,

Mind you at the end of "The Jem Hadar" I was thinking, "wow". Seeing that last ship turn about and ram the Odyessy with the Runabouts trying to take it down was rather impressive
One thing I didn't like about DS9 was the religious stuff - could have done without all that prophet/pah-wraith stuff. I know it was popular but I found it a bit...boring
Also, Kira should have killed Dukat in the end...I was expecting some Kira-style payback from how annoying he was during the Cardassian occupation of the station in Season 6...lol

At the moment i am a total DS9 & B5 *beep*!
Now it is REALLY hard for me to say which is better. Humour wise i would say B5 hands down. Yeah DS9 is funny but it's nothing compared to B5. Action wise. I would probably have to go with B5 too. The action scenes in it are phenominal!
However. My favorite seasons of B5 are season 2 & 3. Season 1 was good but as someone on here said, some of the stand alone episodes werent that interesting. Then in season 4. the begining of the season was good but near the end of it i wasn't kean at all. The whole sheridan being captured & interegated by earth gov was just not my scene. I havent seen all of season 5 but what i saw of it was pretty good, but i havent seen enough of that season to accuratly judge.
Now with DS9.... well it's a part of star trek, and im like religiousley into startrek. lol. And to see the characters, the aliens & starships was really enjoyable to me. I like the way you can see the 24th century star trek universe from 3 points of view. Plus with deep space nine the characters had alot more room to grow and all become friends. By the later seasons it was astounding and all in all generaly made it better than B5 (Only by a tiny bit though)
One thing with DS9 though. I dont really like the way they copied B5. B5 started just before DS9 did. and from the season 1 comentarys of B5 you see that it's main inspiration was the origional star trek. That was why B5 was created, because of TOS and there were even some TOS writers working on it and walter koenig was in it alot. Then DS9 came along and was doing pretty much the same as DS9 accept as not itense. Where B5 had random narn ships being attacked by mysterious black ships & delenn making what appear to be some kind of a jigsaw and always menting a few things that you dont really understand and thenn a few seasons down the line it was all answered. With DS9 we had a few aliens mentioning the dominion and then we find out at the end of the season. So it is clear that DS9 copyed B5 alot but they took a more subtle approach and thats probably one of the reasons why it made DS9 slightly better.

Quite frankly, BABYLON 5 was simply a better written series. When it comes to multi-arc sagas, the Trek people were not very good at it. I saw too many plot holes - especially during the last two seasons. And the characterization on B5 was better written and acted, as well. There is a reason why the show has won at least two or three Hugo Awards (highly regarded Sci-Fi/Fantasy award). But DS9 was still pretty good.

I say DS9 coz I've never seen Babylon 5. I'd like to see it, though.... it's never on the tv where I am.

I think that both shows were very good.... except that B5 was only really good seasons 2-4 and DS9 was really good season 3-7 (in my opinion). So if you have a quanity of quaulity of 3 vs. 5, to me there is a obvious answer to the question
