Wed Sep 18, 2002 4:28 pm IF they Made A DS9 Film? What would be a good Plot? |
|
I think the Ds9 series was GREAT It had a lot contraversial issues and Brilliant Space Dogfights. Therfore It would make an Awsome Film, Wot do you think the Plot should Be?

If you read the "Avatar" books about DS9 after "What You Leave Behind" you'll see the plot that could have been made into a film. Other than that, any DS9 film would have to do with some sort of war or fight, the religion thing with Sisko and Bajor wouldn't fly on the big screen.

I think a mirror universe plot would be good and then you could see the mirror ezri and Jadzia together again
or you could have a trilogy of 3 films- each about the same war but the first would be the TNG crew second DS9 and 3rd VOY crews

If you're interested, the DS9 Relaunch (set after the series) consists of, so far:
Avatar, books 1+2
Section 31: Abyss
Gateways: Demons of Air and Darkness
Gateways #7: What Lay Beyond "Horn and Ivory"
Mission Gamma: Twilight
Mission Gamma: This Gray Spirit
Two more MG books will be out next month, followed by "Rising Son" in January, and the DS9 hardcover "Unity" in April.

I've only read the first. I *really* don't want to give any spoilers, because its the sort of thing you need to find out for yourself.
I'll say this much: the story opens with Vaughn fleeing in the Defiant from a Jarada patrol which is intent on destroying them. Apparently they weren't too happy when the Iconian gateways abruptly closed. Its a very dramatic sequence. Yes, the series does involve a mission to explore the Gamma Quadrant, but there's a secondary plot back on the station.
Here, I'll copy from the back:
Quote: | THE TIME HAS COME
...for a new era of exploration. With the Dominion War behind them, the crew of the USS Defiant journeys through the wormhole as Commander Elias Vaughn leads a "corps of discovery" to blaze new trails into the unexplored reaches of the Gamma Quadrant.
THE TIME HAS COME
...for a civilization to reach a crossroads. As political forces throughout the Alpha Quadrant intersect at Deep Space Nine to determine the future of Bajor, the planet's theological unity threatens to shatter. And for Colonel Kira Nerys, the path of the Prophets may become a road to ruin.
THE TIME HAS COME
...for a father and daughter to confront their past while a mother and son fight for the future, for lovers to be tested and for friendships to transform, and for worlds on opposite ends of the galaxy to face the dusk...or the dawn.
TWILIGHT
STAR TREK
DEEP SPACE NINE

Oohooh!! *jumps up and down* I can answer this one!
As Pah-Wraith said--as I keep insisting--a plot with the Mirror characters would be great. A joined Mirror Jadzia perhaps, an unjoined Mirror Ezri...I always wondered what it would be like if the two Daxs were to meet. I think it'd certainly be an interesting experience...

I cannot wait to get Mission Gamma when they come out in the UK. Mind you I will probably read it too fast and then end up waiting ages with nothing to read before the next one comes out
