Sat Oct 26, 2002 7:50 pm Why are you so persistant to leave? |
|
Why do you want to leave earth so bad?
Do you think space is any different?
If there were another habitable planet wouldn't you think someone else lives there?
If someone lived there wouldn't be wrong to take it from them?
I just think humans should stay in this solar system. They were not intended to go at warp. Remember people like columbus?
The american indians how they were robbed of their land.
This is what humans intend to do with fast speed technology I think.

Yes, but humans weren't as civilized back then as we are now. Why leave Earth? To live life, to explore new things, you just feel good about it

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

But more than likely if there was a habitable planet(terran) it would have life already on it.
And the only way to live there would be to steal from the organisms there.

Yah, that's true, but we wouldn't go out of our way to kill them if we had no reason to

Yep, it seems that even in the "Startrek" future humanity has still yet to learn to be content, we all always have to go for more

How do you know that we weren't created to do just that? Over hundreds of years we have evolved and learned and done things no one though possible before.

yes hundreds of years ago "MAN was not ment to fly" And "Man will never walk onthe moon", if we were not ment to then we wouldent be able to do it, so maybe one day we will be able to go to warp, then we will know, we were ment to do it.

Here's a little quote from Babylon5 First season, that might apply to this thread
"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe and Lao-Tzu, Einstein, Morobuto, Buddy Holly, Aristophanes .. and all of this .. all of this was for nothing unless we go to the stars." -Commander Sinclair

That's an awesome quote, and it's so true.
I think that we were given the ability to learn how to do all of these things for a reason, and we should pursue it.
