Do you think they will ever be obselete? Because things like Jeeps and Tanks, and things of that nature have a better advantage and since they are more specialized for land terrain better ability at traveling on land, In caves and so forth.

The land vehicle in Nemesis is called the Argo. I think land vehicles will not be obsolete, but I agree that those burning fossil fuels will have to go. Hey, does anyone know anything about the new work on hydrogen fuel cells? I've heard that they've developed hydrogen powered fuel cells that could run a car just as well as gasoline, but at a much lower economic and environmental cost. The rumour has it that they haven't developed these vehicles yet b/c the Dubya Administration (can you tell I'm anti-George W.?) all has stock in oil companies! So does anyone know anythign about it?

Probably not, but they will be rarely used. The enemy will use an air based ship to blast you out of the sky so in order to survive you will also have to adapt to Air based ships.

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

Yah, the hydrogen cells are becoming more and more feasable, just like the hybrid cars that are already out there today. The hydrogen cells do some sort of reaction inside and they generate electricity. The power then goes to an electric motor which mves the car. There is no exhaust, so no pollution.

no, because everyone needs a fast, efficient way to get around, even with a transportation system, you would still have to walk a bit usually, with a car, you can park right infront of a place

Thanks...
Anyways...back on topic:
Land vehicles won't ever go obsolete...even when we are talking about starships and whatnot, people still live on planets, and they will need a way to get around...and I highly doubt people will use transporters to get where ever they are going all the time, that would use tremendous resources.
In terms of warfare...it highly depends, by todays current laws of physics, we probably won't ever get much further out of our solar system, and the only inhabitable planet within that range we know of is Earth..so interstellar warcraft may never exist and we may be stuck with tanks and humvees for up close combat situations just because that is the most practical way to wage war.
If warp technology ever does come into play though...that is a totally different story.
