Yes, but how does the artificial gravity work?

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

There is gravity plaiting that electronicaly creates a gravity fealed under the deck that holds you to the floor. In "The undescovered country" Gorkons D7 battle ship loses gravaty when the primary field generator is destroyed by a photon torpedo, suposedly fired by the enterprise.

and the very solid theory atm is that this can be achieved by having a ring magnet spinning very fast in very cold liquid nitrigeon, or something like that.

Whats cool though is that you can change the level of gravity, it is joaked that at the acadamys orbiting stations the gravity is set higher then earths to make it harder on the cadets.

Has anyone seen the tng episode where the crew has to get off the ship so it can be pu through a baryon sweep? Well, once they were all off, everything on the ship shut down, the power was all off. Somehow though, there was still gravity. Im pretty sure that if all the power was out, there would be no power to run he afg generators, so why is it that picard and the rest of those bandits werent floating around?

Tim Russ (Tuvok) was in that episode, "Starship Mine". He played the character "Devor".

Starships use a graviton field generator as a major part of their artificial gravity fields.

and also, if the gravity generators are a system that is always on, you know with its own redundant power supply, then how come it can get knocked out like it did on "The Undiscovered Contry" you know, with the two torpedo hits?

In the DS9 episode when Jake and Sisko go off on a quest in that sail ship, Sisko says that the original didn't have gravity, but for conveniance he had installed gravity plating. The sail ship didn't have anything in the way of a power supply aside for the one for the lights, i cant remember if they had a comm system or not.....anyway, with no central power supply, where did the gravity plating get it's power? Does it run off a battery of some sort? It must not be a system that needs much power if that is the case......i dont know.......
