I didn't really watch DS9 but from what i saw i always got the impression he wasn'texactly a great actor. But then i havn't seen as much as you so, i'm probably wrong.

I thought he was great, but that's kinda biased because i think all the Startrek captain roles are played very well

In the grand scope of Trek captains and the perception of them, Sisko will likely go down as the least known and least understood. Avery Brooks is one of the finest actors I've seen on Star Trek, and it's a shame that mor people didn't see his portrayal of Ben Sisko. I found Sisko to be the strongest and most complete Captain on Trek. He balanced his career with a family and spiritual life. Not only that, but he helped win a war that meant the survival of the Federation. Brooks is definately the man.

Captain Sisko was the greatest captain ever.
Not only was he a competent Starfleet captain, but he was the Emissary of the Prophets. No other Starfleet captain can claim something so great.

Right on! Sisko is my fav. Capt. of all time! If he was not on DS9 they probobly would not have ordered 7 sesons
