does anyone know why channel 13 in los angeles stoppped showing re-runs are 4am?

Not specifically, but here's a possibility:
TNN has been buying up the rights to DS9 as it expires in each market. So basically, you're not going to have DS9 for a while, and then it should be available in a few months on TNN (basic cable). Hopefully they'll put it on just as often as they've been showing TNG.

in response to season changing and programs..i dont think that is it..they are showing hour informercials instead....very annoying

Well, the latest news I've heard is that TNN won't start showing DS9 until 2004. Needless to say, It'll be a while.
The good news is, it looks like DS9 Season 1 will be on DVD in early 2003.
The bad side of that is that season 1 wasn't all that great.
