Mon Jul 25, 2005 2:00 pm Recommend me an XBOX game :D |
|
Hi all. Got myself an XBOX the other week with two games - Republic Commando and Halo. Whilst they did initially impress Republic Commando was too short whilst Halo (was excellent at first) quickly became corridor after corridor of shooting which, for me, got boring quite quickly.
I've heard there are some good RPGs on XBOX and I'm quite tempted but I'm not sure which are good and which aren't. I'm very tempted to get the second Knights of the Old Republic game but don't want to get something that has alot of 'stats' in. All this "+6 stamina" stuff - I just don't get that stuff. So if there are any RPGs which aren't on this basis, I'd love to hear if they're any good.
There are two games out later this year which I'll definitely be getting - the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Tomb Raider: Legend.
Ideally I'd like a game that has alot of replayability in it so if anyone can recommend something, I'd be very interested!

FABLE!
Fable is probably one of the best XBox Games i have ever played.
The X Box Games i have are:
Fable
Destroy all Humans
Halo
Mid Town Madness 3
Night Caster II
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds
I also suggest Destroy all Humans
Morrowind is a good game too but the fighting in it is poor and it can get extremly annoying and long winded at times. Especially when you keep on getting lost. lol

Lol! I was actually looking at Fable!
How does the combat work? Is it turn-based kinda thing or hack and slash?

I found Fable was very hard to wait for. The LOAD times are very poor and you can often find yourself waiting for something to load more than your actually playing. Although if you like that stuff, go for it!
As for the games I suggest, Jade Empire is a excellent rpg. Period. Its currently the highest ranked rpg on the xbox on most top 10s and I can second that.

Pff.. X-box ey.. And then you wanted to be RPG style... hmm....
Here are the Results of some very good RPG's
Best Choice: Fable
Best buy: The Bard's Tale
Best Gameplay: SW: Knights of the old Republic 2
Best Promising Game/Add-on: Fable: The Lost Chapters *Not yet released
Best GraphicsJade Empire
Best Overall Game: LotR: The Third Age
Best Story: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
I would recommend The Bard's Tale, because it's a cheap and funny game. It's also easy for the beginner.
If you are an Advanced RPGer, then i would recommend: Fable or Jade Empire.

Thanks for all the suggestions people! Went into town with the idea of getting Knights of the Old Republic 2 but found Fable for 10 so got that instead. You weren't wrong people; am really liking it!
In the end I got KOTOR2 as well but was very disappointed in it at first. I'm getting a bit more into it now but, at first. Well it was a bit boring. Am hoping it's going to pick up a bit now but Fable is still my favourite!
San Andreas would otherwise be on the top of my list but I had it on PS2 - I sold my PS2 to try an XBOX lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I bought Fable in the end and am realyl enjoying it. I also treated myself to Knights of the Old Republic 2 but I found it a bit complicated (ha ha!) so I'm afraid to say it has been sold on eBay. Managed to get my money back so I'm happy.
Really enjoying Fable though - it's exactly the type of game I was looking for!

You should know that they will be re-releasing Fable later this year, its called Fable: The lost Chapters ... apperantly, they left a ton of story out of the original and thats why they got bashed for.. So the lost chapters is what Fable SHOULD of been.

Awwww no! I didn't know about that - I would have probably waited. As it is I'll probably just end up buying it anyway. Does anyone know when it is out?
