PostThu Jan 29, 2004 5:07 pm    UPN Moving TREK Prequel Back An Hour to 9 PM

From www.trekweb.com:

Quote:
The early demise of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE lead-out JAKE 2.0 has opened up a scheduling problem for UPN this spring. The reality hit AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL has been slated to air in its nine o'clock timeslot for the immediate future, but the show will finish in March.

Zap2it reports today that ENTERPRISE will fill that void, presumeably beginning with reruns after February Sweeps and carrying through the last six new episodes of the season, which begin on April 21st with "Damage." The network has not yet announced whether May Sweeps will hold another ENTERPRISE double header evening but if so, the season finale of the 24-episode third season would be May 19th.

If the prequel series stays in the 9 PM slot when new episodes begin, it would take the show out of competition with the WB's SMALLVILLE, which has outperformed it so far this season (although it has taken a hit compared to last season as well). The new slot would put ENTERPRISE back in the STAR TREK: VOYAGER timeslot and up against NBC's THE WEST WING and the WB's ANGEL.

Zap2it's report offers no elaboration on this speculation, nor does it specify a date for when the change will occur. However, UPN has announced that comedy THE MULLETS will return to the network March 10th after an extended hiatus. The sitcom will air at 8:30 following the debut of the animated series GAME OVER at 8p, thus bumping ENT to 9pm. The last new episode of ENTERPRISE before April will be "Azati Prime" on March 3rd.

Won't change for us... Fox acquired UPN in our region, so they show UPN shows at night. Enterprise comes on at 11 at night. Stupid Fox... Old UPN station just had to turn into CBS....

With the return of all the enterprise cancellation rumours, its got me concerned, I think it might actually happen, usually when a show gets shifted around its a sign of trouble
