Th episode Rapture was the first episode in the DS9 series where the new uniforms where shown. The one with the grey shoulders. Now we know before this point Bashir was taken by the Dominion because in the episode In Purgatory's Shadow, Bashir was found wearing the old uniform. Meaning the Changeling was Bashir in the new uniform back on DS9. Now back to my point.... The episode Rapture Sisko kinda went into this head trauma and Bashir helped him recover. Why didn't the Changeling let Sisko die? And then claim there was nothing he could do. Sisko was a powerful enemy to the Dominion. Weyoun said he was required reading for all Vorta.

A very interesting point. Arguements could be that the founder didnt want to give himself away, didnt want to be responsible for an unnecessary death, or just that the writers didnt want to kill the main character.

I thinks that there's a possibility the writers didn't plan to make Bashir a changeling so they treated him like he was a normal Bashir. OR, killing Sisko wasn't his primary goal and he didn't want to take the risk of blowing his cover.

Both of you make good points. BTW its true gul. The writers hadnt planned for him to be a changeling yet. I think it was a last minute desicion. I just meant why in the story did he not kill Sisko. Your right though. Someone might have investigated his death and realized he could have lived.
