Star Trek 12 The Rise Of Khan Story Ready Enjoy!

[29th Century Starfleet]

I have touched the story up a bit and added some deleted scenes which I felt still held a good place in the movie. These scenes give some other characters some more screen time and show the new crews relationships after two years together.

This isn't exactly a script but I think we get the idea and I am putting most of the story in here. I dare Orci and Kurtzman to write a better story of the reimagining of Space Seed if they decide they are going to go with Khan. Two years since the last movie 2260.

A Ferengi Marauder intercepts the Botany Bay floating in space. Three Ferengi (The Damon, an appraiser, and the doctor) board the ship to acquire property and assets. The Ferengi Damon wonders why a group of humans is floating around in space in stasis. He signals back to his Marauder and asks his officer to check his records. He notes that a group of our Maruaders tried to raid a human ship 100 years earlier and failed. The Damon does not think these are the same type humans as the ship has no warp drive. He yells at his records officer to look harder.

Side note: Remember in Voyager 11:59 how Seven found some accurate photos on Janeway's family from the 21st century from an old Ferengi database? Well this same Ferengi Database will have information on the Eugenics wars.

Side note: There were no universal translators in the 21st century so the Ferengi should be speaking in their native tongue in this scene and we should see text translations on screen.

Anyway the Ferengi records officer will report his findings to his Damon who will then realize what this level of genetic engineering would be worth. But the Damon is still not sure if these humans were the real thing or were failed experiments.

He has his doctor scan Khan's pod. The Doctor says he cannot get accurate readings until the subject is awake. The damon orders to just wake this one. Not realizing that all the sleeping pods are interconnected he wakes them all. At the end of this scene we just see a hand grab the Damons neck who is leaning over in Khan's face. But we do not see Khan's face yet in this scene.

Kirk is escorting an unnamed Yeoman back to her quarters. They head in to her quarters for this movies steamy sex scene. Before they get it on there is some dialogue about the captain of a ship having a relationship with one of his subordinates. They still get it on though!

Chekov and Sulu are in the combat training room. Sulu is trying to teach Chekov to fence. Chekov says fencing was invented in mother Russia.

The next scene with Spock and Uhura aboard Enterprise in the rec room playing 3-d chess discussing numerous things. Such as their decision to break up a year ago citing their obligations to duty first and personal lives second. But in this movie they would still be best friends basically. She also makes a comment about how she wishes she never bugged Spock about being assigned to Enterprise when the newly rebuilt Farragaut is getting all the action.

The U.S.S. Renderer has just finished transferring crew members just as the Enterprise enters Federation territory. Among them is Nurse Chapel and Ensign DeSalle. She and other new nursing staff report to sickbay to Dr. McCoy.

McCoy and Chapel head to the rec room for a bite to eat. They seem to hit it off when McCoy tells Chapel the story of how his wife divorced him 6 years ago and left him with nothing but his bones. Hint Here for Star Trek 13 maybe?

The past two years the Enterprise has been away cataloging gaseous anomalies in the beta quadrant and Kirk was getting frustrated with Starfleet sending the Federations flagship on some tedious missions while other starships like the Farragaut get all the interesting missions. The admirals that be have been trying to keep Kirk "out of trouble" and Kirk is starting to think him being promoted to Captain was just a gift for saving Earth and Admiral Pike's doing.

Aboard The Enterprise Uhura intercepts a distress call from a Nausicans supply outpost (A Space Station). Spock notes the Nausicans are not members of the Federation but Kirk has a gut feeling to investigate.

The Enterprise arrives at the Nausican outpost to find a Ferengi ship docked with it with no one alive. Spock scans the Ferengi ship to find almost 100 Ferengi dead. Spock scans the station to find 73 human life signs? Kirk says human life signs? What about Nausicans? Spock says 85 Nausicans all dead.

Kirk has Uhura hail the station. There is no response. Kirks assembles a boarding party consisting of Spock, Sulu and two red shirts. One is the "cupcake" red shirt. Another is ensign Johns. They head to the Transporter room where Scotty meets them. Kirk gives Uhura the Conn.

Keenser pops out from under the transporter pad where he is doing some upgrades. Scotty yells at Keenser and says this was supposed to be done yesterday crewman. And wheres your uniform? Keenser says Forgot Laundry! Kirk says it's okay Scotty can we beam over? Yes captain it is just a pattern receiver upgrade for some new specs. Put us as close to the main power storage units as possible so we can avoid being detected.

The five of them beam over to a small power storage room and see no one in sight. Spock and Sulu pull out their Tricorders to scan for life signs. Spock says we are too close to the main power storage to get an accurate reading. Kirk says proceed slowly.

They head down a corridor only to be ambushed by two augments one female and one male with Nausican disrupters "Cupcake" is the first to be hit in the neck and is killed immediately with half of his face charred off. Spock hits the male augment with the phaser set on stun. He quickly says they appear to be human captain. Kirk yells we are humans just like you stop firing. The female augment rolls across the corridor floor like making a suicide run and hits the other red shirt ensign Johns in the leg. Sulu says I just shot her I am positive. Let's try targeting her with two phasers at the first opportunity. Kirk says great. I will take the guy. Kirk lays cover fire and Sulu and Spock finally stun her with several shots at once. The male augment shoots Kirk in the chest. Spock says the captain is seriously wounded beam us back now. I only have four patterns to lock onto sir. ?Now Mr. Scott. Kirk, "Cupcake", Sulu, and Spock are beamed back.

Where is Ensign Johns? He was too close to the main power storage to get a good lock sir. Off the transport pad. Beam the captain directly to sickbay. This is where we get our first good look at Sickbay. New nurse ensign Christine Chapel immediately goes to the biobed where Kirk was transported to and scans him saying he is in critical condition. Dr. McCoy is in the medical lab on deck 6 a few doors down. But was already on his way as soon as the landing party was beamed back. Dr. McCoy arrives and stabilizes the captains condition. Spock arrives shortly thereafter and McCoy gives him the good news. I think I can have him back to duty in a few hours if he is needed.

Meanwhile over on the station Ensign Johns is dragged barely conscious to the stations command center. It is a small room with about six small workstations similar in size to TMP Klingon d-7 cruiser bridge. Joaquin says make sure you show the proper respect to our leader. What are you going to do with me Johns asks? Khan turns around and asks are you human? Yes I am human. I am a member of starfleet as well.

Starfleet eh. Joaquin says to Khan sir how long. SHH SHH Khan says. What is the current year Khan asks? It's 2260 Johns says. Khan immediately screams and puts his fist straight through a console leaving a gaping hole. Johns says Our captain may be able to help you with whatever you need. Khan says what is your captain�s name? James Kirk Johns replies. We need help from no one! Johns says if you do not return me to my ship you will face numerous charges.

Khan motions to Joaquin and the other male augment to release Johns from restraints and walks towards him. Johns throws a quick punch that is blocked by Khan with one hand. Khans other hand then grabs Johns by the shoulder turns him around and snaps his neck quickly. Khan tells his followers our time is finally coming. Give me a few more hours of study to assess our situation and then we will beam this broken crew member straight to James Kirk's face.

About six hours later Kirk heads back to the bridge mostly healed up. Spock has been scanning the station more thoroughly and confirms that they are humans but their dna has been altered. Combined with their enhanced quickness and endurance Spock reports that he believes these humans dna have been augmented. He also notes the last such report on such humans existing was over a hundred years ago on the NX-01 Enterprise commanded by Jonathan Archer.

Kirk says he studied some of Archer's missions in early starfleet history and asked Spock if Arik Soong was still alive. He said unknown after Soong was released in 2205 he disappeared from all known contact. Could these be more Augments that Archer had to deal with?

Uhura says to Kirk we are being hailed from the station sir. On screen lieutenant. James Kirk I presume. We know you are genetically enhanced humans using research that was banned hundreds of years ago. Who created you? Created us? Khan asks? We were bred to lead our planet and those who were jealous of our abilities tried to murder us. We would all be dead if the United States government had its way. Kirk says United States with a puzzled look. Spock motions for Kirk to come over to him. Captain I believe these humans are from Earth's Eugenics wars that lasted from 2035 to 2037. I found a record of a cryogenic prison ship called the botany bay that was launched in 2038. Kirk thought perhaps the Ferengi woke them and paid the price. ?

I have a present for you captain. Ensign Johns body is beamed directly to the bridge. Are our shields up Sulu Kirk says. Yes they are. How did you beam through our shields? After 300 years we will finally take what is ours! Screen Off!

Chekov says multiple security breaches aboard the ship we have 73 intruders. Kirk says how the hell did they beam through our shields. Unknown Spock says. Red alert Chekov alert all crew to arm themselves we have multiple security breaches all across the ship. Set phasers to Kill as stun has little effect unless several hits are effected to one person at a time. Have extra security routed to Engineering the bridge and auxiliary control room. Use all necessary force they must not be allowed to take this ship.

The next sequence of the ship being taken over will last about 10 to 15 minutes so I will skim through the important parts without too much dialogue.

Most of the 73 augments beamed to Engineering and some to deck 2.

Engineering quickly gets taken over lead by Joaquin with about 40 out of 50 crew members being killed.

Side Note: This is where we see engineering remodeled and finished up to look more like the rest of the ship. There are more ceilings but it still appears about 4 decks high in the main part of Engineering and fairly wide to give the idea of a massive Engine room but not have it look like a cheap factory on the surface of a planet.

In sickbay McCoy grabs a phaser and hides Christine Chapel and another nurse in the service crawlway. Try to get off the ship and signal starfleet or anyone for some help. They are given phasers as well. They tell McCoy I have never fired a real one of these. McCoy says you know all those non medical courses you took at the academy. I hope you got A's in them. McCoy is shortly thereafter taken prisoner.

In the transporter room Keenser is still working underneath the transporter pad when the two transporter officers on duty are quickly killed by Augments. Keenser slowly and quietly pulls the panel closed before they see him.

The 5 Augments including Khan that beamed to deck 2 take the turbolift quickly to the bridge. Two more red shirts with knives in their back are used as temporary shields and catch the bridge crew off guard. All bridge officers are killed (including James Cawley's character) except Kirk Spock, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov. Sulu and Uhura were shot in the arm with a Nausican disrupter. Kirk Spock and Chekov were unharmed. Khan has his Augments put Spock, Uhura, Chekov, and Sulu in restraints they remain on the bridge.

Khan says to James Kirk I would rather die then allow my crew to be taken prisoner so easily. You don't deserve to be a commander of an army. Look whatever you Khan cuts him off. Can we speak in private captain? Kirk and Khan head to the briefing room.

Khan calls Joaquin for a report. 150 of their crew are dead. We lost 30 of our people. Khan orders Joaquin to take 10 of our men from Engineering to the supply station. Take everything you can. Board the alien ship and prepare it to leave. Also put Elo in charge and have their chief engineer prepare some power reserves for that alien ship. Aye sir.

Kirk What do you want with my ship?
Khan I am going to make the people of Earth pay for their hypocritical actions.
Kirk those governments have been gone since the 3rd world war that started in 2050.
Khan 3rd world war why am I not surprised.
Kirk So why vengeance still, for people that are long since dead
Khan you are descendents of those corrupt people. Someone must be held responsible.
Kirk You have the chance to start new lives with a clean slate. Given the circumstances I may be able to get the charges reduced but you must pay for the crimes you have already committed.
Khan There is no debate! You forget yourself captain. I hold the keys to your ship now.
Kirk Wrong Computer activate emergency self destruct single authorization only. Unable to comply. Self destruct explosives have been removed from the ship.
Khan I may have only been awake for a week but I have learned a great deal.
Khan I see you are not as weak as I anticipated captain. I respect you James Kirk.

Side Note: This is where Kirk realizes the point of Spock's Kobayashi Maru test and a no win scenario. Kirk works up the courage his father had to do what is necessary.

Chapel and the other nurse are in the service crawlways when they see a panel with wiring just pop out. They raise their phasers but out pops Keenser. I was working in the transporter room when the ship was boarded. I had to crawl through millions or wires to get here. I am lucky I was not electrocuted. Doctor McCoy has ordered us to get off the ship and get help any way we can. Keenser says the top of the shuttlebay is 7 more decks down. There is an access port above the shuttlebay so we can survey the situation and take a shuttlecraft. The Nausicans would be pissed if they heard what happened to their people and station. Their homeworld is 3 star systems over. We can reach it at Warp 2 in about a day. They finally arrive above the shuttlebay.

Meanwhile in engineering Elo who was put in charge asks who is in command of engineering? Scotty answers I am. I am a wee bit hungry do you think I could replicate a sandwich. Elo replies you eat when we say you eat. I want you to put some reserve power for that alien ship in these 10 power supply nodes. Scotty says I don't even know what race that ship belonged to let alone what kind of power they use. Elo raises his disrupter to scotty's head. Okay Okay.

I will need at least 2 men to help me. I need access to a sensor station to scan the ship as well. You can have one man. Scotty calls Ensign DeSalle over to him. You helped build the ship back on Earth a few years ago right? Yes I worked on the interior of engineering here sir. I need you to blow those two power conduits at the same time to take out those men. Sir I am not sure I can even access those conduits in that manner let alone do it from a sensor station. Part of being an Engineer is being a miracle worker. Besides I have a miracle of my own to wield. Trying to convert this ships power to an alien power source I know nothing about.

Side Note: This is the same Lt. DeSalle that we knew as the backup Navigator from TOS. His career path will be changed forever by the end of this movie.

Kirk and Khan come out of the briefing room and Spock stands up and says Uhura and Sulu need immediate medical attention. Another Augment hits him with a Nausican disrupter barrel and says our leader did not give you permission to speak to him. You will help me fly this ship to Earth now set a course. Spock they have disabled the auto destruct just do as he says. Khan says release them from restraints. Any attempt at trickery will result in immediate death for all of your crew.

An augment from the shuttlebay wakes up from being hit with a phaser on kill. Sir three of their crew have taken two shuttlecraft and are gone. Rokin is dead and I am badly burned. How long have they been gone at least 30 minutes sir. Damn you. Khan grabs Kirk by the neck where did they go? I don't even know who you left alive or dead let alone who has the shuttlecraft. You have been up here with us the whole time we could not have done anything. Khan stares into Kirk's eyes and says I believe you. Prepare this and the alien ship for departure to Earth.

Side Note: By this time in the movie all of the 43 augments that remain are stationed as follows. 20 left in Engineering 5 on bridge including Khan, 10 on Ferengi ship by now. And one in sickbay with McCoy.

Sir an augment at Spock's science station reports to Khan there has been an explosion in Engineering. Damn you Kirk. Spock breaks free from his restraints in an emotional outburst of anger and quickly takes out one of the augments with the nerve pinch. Chekov and Sulu take on another augment grab his weapon quickly and shoot him and one other augment while they are off guard. They then have to take cover. Kirk grabs one Augments head and smashes it into his command chair knocking him out. Spock grabs his augments disrupter and fires on the last augment that is left besides Khan. Spock picks Uhura up and says Nyota are you okay? I will be. You and Sulu report to sickbay. Sulu says sir request permission to remain on the bridge. Kirk says are you sure you can fly the ship with only one good arm? Sulu smiles and says yes sir. Uhura goes to sickbay.

Khan grabs a communicator from his belt and heads to the turbolift and says to all of my people that are left on this ship. Use your alien ships mobile teleporter now to get to that alien ship. The remaining two augments beam to the Fernegi ship. So there are only 12 of them left now total all on the Ferengi ship. Spock scan that ship I want to know everything about it. It appears to be the same type of Alien ship that tried to steal from Archer's Nx-01 Enterprise over 100 years ago. But with far more powerful weapons and technology. And a strange subspace distortion inside the ship that I cannot describe.

Our 2 shuttlecraft and 8 Nausican fighters approaching us now sir. The shuttlecraft Galileo is hailing us sir. On screen. Crewman Keenser Kirk says in delight, I see you have brought us some reinforcements. Have the two shuttles dock with us. Scotty how are things in Engineering? That power conduit we blew sir took out our long range communications and phasers sir. We will need at least 3 days to get them back up and running. Who's idea was the explosion in Engineering? Scotty says mine sir. But ensign DeSalle here is the one who worked the miracle. Mr. DaSelle. Yes sir he says. We will have to have a little chat when this is all over. Anytime you wish sir. Scotty do we have warp drive? Give me about 5 minutes for that one sir.

Chekov hail the lead Nausican ship. Captain Re Chok at your service. Kirk I deeply apologize for the loss to your fellow Nausican's but. It is okay Captain your small crewmember gave us all of the details. We know they stand apart from the Federation. We only ask that we be allowed to assist in the apprehension of these criminals. There is one other important issue we must discuss. That ship that was stolen. It is a Ferengi Marauder. But it is not your average Maruader. They have stolen technology from an ancient race that many believe thrived throughout this galaxy tens of thousands of years ago. They were called the Iconians. A recent trade dispute with the Ferengi has caused some ill will between our two worlds and our intelligence indicates the Ferengi have stolen technology from one of the Iconian worlds to use against us. Some of the technology has been known to beam through shielding and even possibly displace parts of space in different time periods. We can only predict what that kind of technology would do to a ship? Kirk Or a planet perhaps? Thanks for your help follow the Enterprise to Earth.

Meanwhile on board the Maurader. Joaquin confers with Khan. I have been studying some of the technology aboard this ship. I am convinced this ship has technology that is far more advanced than it was designed with. These aliens were trying to steal from our ship Khan says. They must have stolen this technology too. What kind of technology is it? Well sir you know about the being able to teleport through shields already. But this other one appears to allow a focused beam of energy to fracture space in different time periods. You mean we go travel in time? No sir I do not believe it is that stable. According to these aliens visual logs they tried that and were killed as soon as they hit the threshold. Khan thought if we could fracture enough of Earth the whole planet would fall apart beyond repair. With this weapon no race would dare stand in our way? We could be masters of this entire galaxy and finally lead like we were meant too.

The Enterprise and 8 Nausican fighters are warping towards earth and are about 20 minutes behind the Marauder. Spock says he is detecting four odd spatial distortions on Earth's surface that are growing in size. They are causing seismic activity. Kirk says Distance Mr. Sulu 5 minutes. Scotty can you give us anymore speed? I am lucky to be holding warp 8.2 sir. I'll see what I can do. Sulu we are at Warp 8.4 sir and will achieve orbit for Earth in 1 minute. Spock I want a way to close those rifts. Sulu I am going to need the best evasive maneuvers you got without our phasers. Mr. Chekov arm photon torpedos. Red Alert! Shields up! security alert all decks to battle stations be advised they can beam through our shields if necessary. Sulu says we are coming out of warp sir.

The Ferengi ship has locked weapons they are firing phasers. Shields holding at 90 percent. Chekov says Captain they have beamed an explosive device to the shuttlebay sir and another in the mess hall. Hull breach on decks 5 and 15 sir. Emergency forcefields in place. Spock why would they not beam explosives to the warp core or another vital area of the ship. It is safe to assume whomever is operating the transporter over on that ship cannot compensate for Mr. Sulu's evasive maneuvers. Kirk says So it is pure chance as to where they are beaming these explosives? What are the odds now? Spock. I cannot calculate them captain as the variables are too random. Kirk rolls his eyes and goes oh great. Chekov reports five of the Nausican ships have exploded from the inside sir. Kirk says signal the remaining 3 ships to follow our pattern of evasive maneuvers.

Spock Captain I believe if we fire the same energy beam that opened those four rifts on the planets surface inward on the ship itself then the energy beam combined with the warp core breach will act as a sealant and close the rifts.

Chekov reports two more explosives transported. One right above main engineering. Is the warp core okay? Yes sir. Another one in space right between the shields and the starboard nacelle. Sulu saysCaptain I have lost some maneuverability. Signal the remaining three Nausican ships to target that ships shield generator. Mr. Chekov fire torpedoes as best you can try to disable their shield generator. We have to beam aboard their ship and fire the beam ourselves. There are 12 augments left including Khan we must assume most of them are on the bridge of that ship. Kirk assembles an away team of himself Spock, Uhura (to translate the Ferengi control panels as best she can), and 3 red shirts. Set phasers to kill fire at any augment on sight. Kirk says to the transporter chief beam us to whatever you think is right next to the bridge.

They beam to the Damon's office. Everyone be ready. There are 8 augments on the bridge including Khan. 6 of the augments are killed immediately following the bridge doors opening. Two of the red shirts are shot with Nausican disrupters one dies and one is wounded badly. You killed all my people, my loyal followers including Joaquin. Kirk you................. The unwounded red shirt says captain look out. Joaquin with his last ounce of strength picks up his disrupter and misses a diving out of the way Kirk and hits his master Khan! Khan starts to scream KIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRKKKKK but in such a low tone of voice as it is his last breath!

Spock and Uhura figure out how to fire the beam in on itself. Take this ship into Earth's atmosphere. Position it right in the center of these four rifts and pray. Spock says captain as soon as we are in position I can set the beam to fire at a delay. Set if for 1 minute Kirk says. We are in position. Set it Spock. Enterprise beam us back. The away team is beamed back. The bridge crew hurry to the bridge. Magnification in by 5 times Mr. Sulu. Attention all hands pray this works!

The Ferengi ship explodes! The light from the energy beam reaction covers the earth for almost 10 seconds. It is the longest 10 seconds of the crew�s lives. When the light dims Earth is there intact. Spock Kirk says. No sign of the rift captain! Sighs of relief across the ship. Hail Starfleet command. Are you guys alright down there? Admiral Weaver says Thanks to you again captain. I look forward to your debriefing. Give the crew a week shore leave then report to me at headquarters. One more thing Jim. I think it is time we at Starfleet here let you out more often! Thank you!

Ensign Desalle and Lt. Cmdr Scott please report to the bridge. Mr. Scott with engineering being upgraded I would say keeping her in tip top shape is an around the clock job. Yes sir it is. Mr. Desalle I promote you to the rank of Lieutenant and are now the Enterprise's assistant chief engineer. Sound good Mr. Scott? Aye but don't be thinking your gonna get my job someday mister. Kirk says no way Scotty. Two miracle workers are always better than one.

Bones how are our injured crewman down there? Fine they will be back on duty in a matter of hours. But remember this I am a doctor not a commando next time you want to have genetically enhanced egomaniac humans over to play. Spock says doctor you are implying that this was intentional on the captains part? You green blooded inhuman boogeyman it's a joke. Kirk says gentleman please! I have enough of a headache.

Attention Enterprise crew there will be a memorial service for those 150 crew members that gave their lives to defend this ship. The memorial will be at 0900 tomorrow morning. After that the ship will be in space dock being repaired in which time we can all enjoy one week of shore leave. Kirk out!
