PostThu May 21, 2009 12:45 am    Star Trek 12 Deleted Scenes And Alternate Opening!

This is the best deleted sub plot which perhaps will get left if this movie ever comes to play. Okay first off it is 2260 right? Amok Time took place in 2267 in the old timeline right? Spock's birthdate has not changed in this new timeline. Who in the class can guess what is going to happen next?

That is correct! Pon Farr But here is the best part. Spock's Pon Farr should be way different than the average Vulcan's because he is half human. Here is Spock's Pon Farr re imagined now. Instead of just the strong desire to mate. It becomes something deeper than that because of his half human side. It becomes more like a sadist form of sexual desire. It is not enough for him to mate. He must inflict pain to satisfy his Pon Farr desires. The mating part is still involved but that is only the beginning.

Even though Uhura and Spock agreed to end their romantic relationship a year earlier. Spock realizes what is happening and ask for Uhura's help saying she is the only one he can trust. He explains it to her as best he can but she is not fully understanding of it and reluctantly agrees. He damn near kills her in the process and it is brought to McCoy and Kirk's attention.

This would have really brought out Quinto's acting talents. It would have also gave the film an R or AO rating!

Alternate Beginning!

Instead of the Augments being awake or even alive for that matter in the beginning of the movie I was going to have the Augments as embryos. I was going to explain the Eugenics Wars as being regular people fighting over what to do with these embryos and them being launched into space so no one on Earth can get to them as a peace compromise.

I was then going to have the Botany Bay found in space with these frozen embryos found by Lore Soong (Long L, two Short O's, Long R, Short Eh sound).

Lore Soong is the son of Arik Soong born in 2208 three years after Arik Soong was released from prison. Lore is brilliant young man trying to find his place in the universe. He wonders why his father left after he was born. His mother explains how his father Arik was a brilliant man but he was punished because his work was so misunderstood. He makes it his life goal to learn his fathers work.

In 2228 he finds the Botany Bay floating in space hatches the embryos and raises all 73 of them like his father did for Malik and company.

After 32 years pass the Augments would have gone out of their own and this would have given me the opportunity to get that big bang out of the way before the title screen.

I didn't go with this because I did not want to OVERREAIMAGINE Space Seed.

Which opening do you think was better?
