I only have a few rules, nothing too complicated:

1. If you want to join, please PM me with these details: Name of your character, species, gender, and background.
2. Keep it realistic. This series is set in the original series, so no playing as a Klingon or Romulan, no holodecks, no replicators, essentially no technology or species featured in TNG or later.
3. Before ANYTHING ELSE in a post, state where your character is, like Bridge (Communications console), Ready Room, Alien Planet, etc.
4. Please spell it right, and use correct punctuation. No lol-ing, no rofls, things of that nature.
5. No one-line posts, like "Aye, sir" and that's it. Like "Aye, sir!" he shouted as he ran to the transporter room.
6. Have fun!

STAR TREK: VOYAGES

The USS Sidewinder, which was previously only used for deep space exploration, has a new mission: war. Refit with the newest technology, the Sidewinder will go into Romulan space with a secret mission: find Romulus and either negotiate an end to the war... or blow it to bits.

A scant two years after the war began, Captain Cecille Vance was given command of the Sidewinder. Though one of the youngest to achieve the rank of Captain, she was among the most brilliant officers in Starfleet. Charged with a demanding mission and a time limit, she would take her unwieldly Daedalus-class ship and head into Romulan space and return with success... or fragments of her vessel.

Daedalus-class

Armament: 4 phase cannons, 2 forward torpedo launchers and 1 aft with Mk 11 MFAT (magnetically fired atomic torpedoes)
Crew: 211 enlisted, 19 officers

Special Armaments: Using normal weapons to destroy an entire planet would be inefficient, so the Sidewinder is armed with 2 antimatter warheads. These experimental weapons, the ancestor of the Photon Torpedo, have a very high yield and can penetrate nearly any energy shield- perfect for the Sidewinder's mission.

-Captain's Quarters-
Captain Cecille Vance awoke, dripping cold sweat. The most horrible nightmare... Monsters with long hairy limbs, glowing red eyes and sharp teeth...
beeeeep.
Though she had slept hardly half an hour, she was glad of the interruption. She lept out of bed and activated the small wall-mounted console.
"Captain, we have an intruder! Get to the bridge ASAP!"
"On my way."
She turned off the console and paused to look at the mirror on the way out.
CAPTAIN CECILLE VANCE

Born on a Starbase and raised on a space ship, she was always most at home in the void. When hardly 12 years old, the young Andorian girl knew enough about navigation and engineering that she was allowed to take the helm of a long-range shuttlecraft under supervision. Continuing to excel in every task her peers appointed her, when she was finally old enough it was suggested jokingly by her father that she join Starfleet. Taking this suggestion to heart, she went to Starfleet Academy on Earth and earned command of a Daedalus-class starship named USS Sidewinder after a meteoric 10-year career. However, in between her enlistment and her command, she was involved in a mysterious incident which involved the death of a Captain, a permenant disabling injury to a First Officer, and almost 100,000 bars of gold-pressed latinum worth of damage to Federation property. She was cleared of any blame by Starfleet... but she still blames herself.

I would have said sorry for spilling gasoline all over him, except he burnt to death when I accidentally dropped my cigar on him.

In main engineering, a Vulcan science officer looked around in surprise at the events occuring. The familiar red-alert sirens could be heard. Lieutenant Commander Tulak looked up to see the red alert sirens ringing loudly.

"What is going on?" The chief engineer thought to himself.

Captain Vance emerged from the turbolift onto the bridge. She was about to say "Status?" when the... something caught her eye. It stood a foot taller than her and permeated the entire bridge with a rancid stench. A crewman from Engineering, who had been up here to fix a console by chance, cowered by the tactical station, and the 6 foot 5 tactical officer who attended it. Everyone except the crewman had phasers drawn and pointed at the thing. It seemed to examine each of the officers in turn, quickly glancing at the apparently deadly weapons they held in their hands.
It spotted Cecille.
It charged.
She dodged just in time; rolled to the side. "Fire!"
The monster matched her motion; with one sweep of its mighty paw Cecille's phaser flew out of her hand and broke against the wall. Another swipe caught her in the face. Streaks of blood splattered against the wall. She dodged the next one-
And right into an uppercut. Captain Vance staggered a bit, then collapsed, unconscious.

SICKBAY

Lying on the biobed, Captain Vance was having a nightmare. It wasn't about the monster she encountered on the bridge; it was of an incident that happened 7 years ago, before she had earned her command...

"What if it doesn't work?" the Captain said to the excited young Ensign. "We may all be killed!" "But think, Captain! I've run the numbers a million times; it has to work!" The Captain sighed. He picked up the datapad on the desk and although he was heartily sick of reading it, he looked at the numbers and equations one more time. "Alright;" he said, handing the pad back to Ensign Vance. "Let's do it."

Captain Vance stirred on the biobed. No...

The collision alarm was blaring; thousands of contacts littered every display at the science station. A console exploded every few seconds. The gravity contols were haywire; people floated for three seconds before slamming down on the deck. Sparks exploded out of every electrical component. The Captain's console had exploded; Ensign Vance was drawn to look at his body by some sickening fascination. The First Officer was unconscious; he had been slammed against the wall by an explosion. I did this, Vance thought, I have to fix this. She ran to the turbolift and quickly punched the Engineering key. When she arrived, she ran to the Chief Engineer's console. Shoving the Commander out of the way, she quickly tapped in the code to eject the core. There was a resounding thud throught the ship; the hull groaned. There was an assortment of sounds as the wormhole collapsed. Ensign Vance fell unconscious.

Captain Vance fully woke. A medical staff underling and Chief Engineer Tulak was standing by her bed. "For being an engineer," Vance groaned, "you sure aren't ever in Main Engineering." The Vulcan arched an eyebrow. Captain Vance grinned; she found it hilarious whenever a Vulcan made one of their odd facial expressions. "A console was malfunctioning here; since I was here I thought I would check your condition."
