I'm a big fan of Sean Penn. I think he's an amazing actor. I loved him in Mystic River, I am Sam, At Close Range etc. I haven't seen Milk, but I'm sure he did an great job in that role. With all that aside, I really had a problem with what he said during his acceptance speach last night at the oscars. This is what he said, "I think that it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect and anticipate their great shame and the shame in their grandchildren's eyes if they continue that way of support. We've got to have equal rights for everyone". Now I don't have any problem with people having equal rights. I also don't have any problem with people who support gay marrage. I believe that every person has the right to make their own decisions and to support whatever they want. So Sean Penn, you vote whatever way you want. Just don't tell me I should be ashamed with myself because I didn't vote the same way. I would never do that to you.

Meh. At least he didn't say voting for the ban on gay marriage caused Katrina, the tsunami, 9/11, and the Australian wildfires.
