Tue Jun 16, 2009 5:46 am Why would it be bad getting beamed anywhere in a red shirt? |

For what creatively witty (G rated, or R rated) serious or humorous
reasons, do you think it'd be a bad idea to get beamed (via a transporter)
onto anywhere (from a Star Trek ship) in either the real world, or the
Star Trek world, in a red colored only Starfleet shirt ?

Real world:
...that depends entirely on where you are beamed down to. Some obscure place where they have spears as the 'new technology of the millenium' might involve some rather obscure ways to die, including cannibalism, but in some of the more populated areas, like say... Las Vegas, or something, they'd probably nae even blink in your' direction.
Anywhere in the Star Trek world:
Let's face it, you are quite dead within 2 to 4 minutes of beaming down.

I guess that depends on what series you're on and if you're security or not. Anything after the original series and your red shirt means you're in the command department and no longer expendable. William Shatner was reticent at doing Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan because his uniform was now red. Imagine how Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes felt.
