Soooooooooo, what are your thoughts?

I don't think it was intended to compare Obama to a monkey because of his race, but instead because the bill has been interpreted as ridiculous by some, and as a way to connect two current events.
That being said, however, I think it was run in poor taste and should never have made it past the editor's desk.

The NAACP is taking it a little too far, in my opinion. Them saying that the cartoon is an invitation to assassinate the President is just silly,

I don't think they should be calling for the cartoonist to be let go. It's understandable that they want the editor fired, though.

When I first saw it I didn't know about the shooting of the chimp in Connecticut or whatever. Knowing that makes it kind of funny, and not exactly connected to Obama except in that Obama promoted the bill... so I don't know. I think it was definitely a poor choice. If you didn't know about the chimp thing it looks really, really bad and inexplicable.
