just doing some research for a media studies paper, could somebody spare a few minutes just to discuss how they feel that the portrayal of women in star trek has changed from star trek the motion picture to star trek nemesis.

don't get me wrong, I love in TOS all the women running around in the super short skirts, but over the timeline of ST, women have come along way, from base characters (for the most part), to full-blown characters like capatains, Q, doctors, etc. and are no longer quite the "sex objects" as somewhat portrayd in TOS with Kirk always running around trying to get a new woman or slave girl ...although each series does have at least one woman who is the sex symbol of the ship persay
