I'm watching this episode right now, in this episode the delta flyer goes 600 km under an ocean. They encounter some sea creature that causes them to, "Spring a Leak," but the leak is just a stream of water gently flowwing in.... at that depth wouldn't the pressure be so exteme that the water rushing in would rip the ship apart?

Just a guess, but...couldn't the deflector shields have dampened the force a little?

The Delta Flyer is suppose to be their 'super ship'. To prepare it for operating at that depth it had unimatrix shielding, parametallic hull-plating and iso-magnetic EPS conduits to maximize power distribution. This implies the hull cracked but the unimatrix, iso-magnetic shields stayed in place near or at the hull. It also had retractable nacells, so it was fairly built for tha type of assignment.
