PostWed Aug 22, 2007 9:09 pm    [Recruitment/Discussion Topic] USS Solaris - B

This story is losely based on the SIMM USS Angel/Arch Angel.

Storyline:
20 years after the USS Arch-Angel/Angel's infamous missions came to and end, The federation still was in a mild conflict with the Orion Empire.
Lauren Van den Hause, now 59, was one of the last few surviving crew members of the original ship.
Lauren's tattered record left her with a rather small ship.
After all, she had once held the rank of Commander, busted right down to Chief Warrant Officer, and had to start climbing the ranks again.
Now, so many years later, after much arguing, and hard work, she held the rank of Captain.
Of a 19 Crew bird of prey.
Recent changes in Federation/Klingon alliances meant the amalgamation of the two's defence forces, to assist in the defence of both empires. The Romulans, long quiet, haven't complained much.
The Orions, however, HAVE.
Bloody pirates.
Now, inlight of an Orion raid on an outlying Federation colony, similar to those made in the USS Angel's first mission to investigate into the planet Partra, Starfleet is ordering this small craft's first mission:
Investigate Orion interference
Correct it.

Biography:
Her past is full of many classified events, however, it is public knowledge that she SHOULD have been a Captain 20 years ago, except that she made a mistake, which resulted in her being busted down to Chief Warrant Officer.
Her attitude is considered legendary; Most Admirals STILL fear it.
She is also mildly telepathic.

Neb immediately moved up in the rankings of best pilot at the Academy, eventually taking first place his senior year. His first posting was on a scientific vessel as the helmsman. He has been transferred multiple times, never finding a ship that he liked. Neb hopes that he will find a home on the Solaris.

Biography:
Unlike either of her parents, Lt. JG Morrow-Van den Hause plays by the books, after witnessing the events of her Father attempting to beat the rules, while on a mission, and losing his entire ship and crew for it. For the past two years, she has been raised solely by her mother, which, needless to say, is not exactly a healthy environment.
Starfleet really surprised her when they assigned her to her mother's ship.

However, indirect relationships within reason to T.V. Series characters ARE PERMITTED.((Within reason -Established fact: Captain Picard is the last of the Picards. No children, no brothers, etc.))
3) Please do not throw something new into the Storyline without my acknowledgement((within reason. A fleet of borg cubes, no. A mysterious power glitch in the Impulse engines? That's different.

Season 1 Episode 1
Orion Inquiry : New Beginnings

With the slapshot ragtag crew of A human Navigation Officer, A half Romulan Captain, Her 1/4 Romulan Daughter, and two holograms, it appears that 'shoreleave' has been cancelled, when, during a poker game, The EMH, which ties itself into other networks out of boredom, accidentally tripped over an Orion intelligence ship.
This episode will end once the ship either retreats, or is destroyed.

Future Episode:
Season 1((Orion Inquiry)) Episode 2((The First March))

The ship has finally been cleared from dry dock, after it's little sparring contest with Montage left it mildly damaged. Now they are off to finally start thier' first mission, To of all places, Andor.
It is suspected that the Andorian Government, which is set to do it's once-a-decade vote to stay in the federation, may be under Orion Influence do vote AGAINST staying in the federation, and instead, allying with the Orions. Without the Andorian Council, and it's associated worlds, the Federation would be mildly crippled, losing a good chunk of it's Dilithium mines, and worse, the Orions would have access to STARBASES not far from Federation space.
There has also been a rumor that the Andorian government has been investing in Extra-legal biological Engineering, however, they haven't been properly implicated, and it's only been a few stray pirates or splinter groups that have had any association with the two labs discovered.
Could this have anything to do with the biological agent used on Lt. Commander Van den Hause-Morrow and Captain Van den Hause?
