in the exterior, is the ship CGI like in Voyager? or is it something else?

I just saw for the first time an episode of the classic Star trek with captain Kirk, and it looks like someone is holding the ship and moving it with his hand, i thought it was really cute, but wouldn't pass for our days anymore.

They had models for the Enterprise-D in TNG, same with the station in DS9 and Voyager itself. They only started using a CGI version of Voyager a few years in, I believe. I imagine it was a model the entire time on TNG, though.

Yeah in TNG they used models. Seasons 1-3 it was a 6 foot model. But in season 4 - 7 it was a smaller model (4 foot i think) with much more detail.

DS9 & Voyager used models too. However in the later seasons of DS9 it was CGI and from season 3 onwards of Voyager it was mainly CGI

I know they used model in TNG, but the ship look so much like CGI.
