I have a novel that I started, but it does not comply with Star Trek novel guidelines, so i can use it. However, I would like to post it here in the fan fiction forum. I noticed that the rules of posting says "no copy right material". Does that include using established Star Trek characters in my fan fiction?

Most peoples' fan fics here use characters created in the Trek realm. If it's just a fan fic then that's perfectly acceptable.
