Yes, I just watched a documentary about him yesterday. I'll share my favorite story about him:

He was doing a practice run when a member of the hell's angels threw a tire iron at him. He missed. Evel turned around and drove right at the man. He threw the bike down throwing the criminal head over heals. Suddenly he was surrounded by members of the Hell's Angels. The spectators awaiting Evel's show quickly beat the crap out of the gang members. Evel always stood up against drugs and alchohal abuse. This is why they attacked him.
