Mon Apr 30, 2007 7:21 pm Ocean currents to blame for warming: expert |
|
Quote: | THE United States' leading hurricane forecaster says global ocean currents, not human-produced carbon dioxide, are responsible for global warming.
William Gray, a Colorado State University researcher, also said the Earth may begin to cool on its own in five to 10 years.
Speaking to a group of Republican MPs, Dr Gray had harsh words for researchers and politicians who said man-made greenhouse gases were responsible for global warming. |

It's good not feeling like you're the only one who doesn't completely buy all this global warming stuff.

This doesn't surprise me. Russian scientists bet American scientists several million dollars last year that the Earth would cool over the next 10 years. The Russians have a radical theory about global warming floating around their scientific ranks. I know it's a radical theory, but check it out.
Global warming and climate change is - try to believe this; I know it's impossible to believe - caused by the sun! What a radical idea! The sun actually having an impact on the heating of the planet and climate change? Preposterous!

I'm not really going to say I know what is causing global warming, and whether or not it is man made, or if it is really as dire as some people make it sound. However, it just seems so many people have actualized the idea that global warming exists, is a dire threat, and is caused by people. There are clearly other valid idea on what is going on with the earth's climate, and I just hope people give them as much consideration.

Only extremists believe that greenhouse gases are solely responsible for global warming. More realistic people know that they just speed it up.

This whole lie about "greenhouse gases" is clever communist propaganda created from the pulp fiction news camps of the Taliban insurgents planning to overthrow the free regime of an accomplished, democratic Iraq! These are the same so-called "scientists" who told us that the Earth was round, remember. We got them to recant once, and we can do it again! Who's with me?
Clearly these ocean currents are in league with radical Islamic terrorists from the Middle East bent upon cooking us all.
I recommend that we pump Earth's oceans dry, and then store all of the water in compressed reservoirs beneath Guantanamo Bay. We will then hold these agents of Evil indefinitely without trial while torturing them for information related to the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden.
It's the perfect plan.

Someone should have told Bush when he was outlining the reasons for the Iraq war. I think that's the only way he could still get the Democrats to support him .

Well, i'm not going to question that because I don't know the answer. But Russian scientists are one of the smartest people in the world so if someone knows it would be them.
Most people also used to think it was 'Preposterous' to think the world was anything but flat, and all the stars rotated around us (of course they would have to be moving quite....... fast indeed for this to happen, especially the further away ones!), making us the center, of, everything.

Oh really? If they are so little-understood, how did he come up with this hypothesis?
The Article wrote: | and disputed assertions that greenhouse gases could raise global temperatures as much as some scientists predicted.
"There's no way that doubling CO2 is going to cause that amount of warming," he said.
|
now barring world science and Earth's geologic past which have stated and shown that CO2 increases temperature, how did he come to this conclusion?

Dr Gray also said warming and cooling trends could not go on indefinitely and believed temperatures were beginning to level out after a very warm year in 1998. |
Back up data aside from his beliefs?
Yes, Transgressions and Regressions occur, but not this widescale and not this fast. Usually after a large transgression like we've seen, there comes a large regression in the form of an ice age. Along with that we see mass extinction events such as the Permian Mass Extinction event, and the Devonian and Orovician mass extinction events.
