PostFri May 25, 2007 9:25 am    High Resolution Star Trek Characters

Hello!

I was just wondering where all the high resolution Star Trek character pictures are? There are plenty of large, good quality images of ships, nebulae and planets... but rarely are there any professional looking images of the characters. 99% of the images are from TV screen captures of even just digital pictures of the TV screen.

I have queried every search engine, entered every search string imaginable, jumped from fan site to fan site, and even checked out sites that sell Star Trek costumes, but I have found only 1 (count that, ONE) decent picture of a Star Trek (non-human) character.

That would be this image, found on startrek.com: http://www.startrek.com/html/images/store/downloads/desktops/phlox_s3_1600.jpg

Surely there must be more? I was especially hoping to find promo material that would have the quality I am looking for. But as far as I can tell, Star Trek Enterprise is the only series to have any decent promo material released!

I'm starting to go a little crazy over this... Star Trek has a MASSIVE fan base... yet it seems like no one has any high resolution photography of any of the characters.

Please help if you can! I'm especially looking for profile shots of Ferengis, Klingons and Cardassians.

Thanks!

This is strangely, a hard to fill request. Mainly, this is due to the other Star Trek series being done before Digital pictures came out, or was popular to use. With dedication, one can find them. I've found pictures of T'Pol, Archer, Hoshi, etc...before though, a couple ones of Seven and such. Depends on where you look.

That's unfortunate

I would have expected that the TV networks or movie studios would have released more high quality promotional material.

Honestly, the only good promo stuff I've found was for Star Trek Enterprise on startrek.com. Unfortunately there are no Klingons, Ferengi, or any other highly distinguishable alien races.

Even finding a good (print) quality picture of a standard Starfleet uniform is difficult!

Well, like LB said, there were a lot of advances in digital technology in the middle of Voyager's run, so they didn't really have the equipment to do good
