Sun Mar 11, 2007 2:32 pm Law & Order DA Arthur Branch - for President? |

I don't think Fred Thompson has much of a chance, but I found this cool, being a Law and Order fan and all.
Quote: | TV Star, Former Senator Fred Thompson Considers '08 Presidential Bid
WASHINGTON "Law and Order" star and former Tennessee Republican Sen. Fred Thompson is weighing a bid for the White House in 2008, he told Chris Wallace on "FOX News Sunday."

If he were elected, he'd be the second president to have been an actor - and a Republican, too.

He's from L&O!!!!
If I didn't care about my political values, I'd definitely support him.

Of the current Republicans even being spoken of for pres., I think he would have the best odds of winning.

Seriously? I'd think Giuliani has better odds, yet because of Thompson he's slipping in the polls for the primaries. Remarkably, according to a recent poll Thompson's now beating out Newt Gingrich at 12%, taking away votes from Romney and Giuliani, yet not McCain or Gingrich. This is remarkable stuff. It seems that Thompson could be the Republican "dark horse" and Giuliani's number one threat.
With Fred (March 4) ----- Without Fred (March 25)
Giuliani 44% ----- 31%
McCain 20 ----- 22
Thompson N/A ----- 12
Gingrich 9 ----- 8
Romney 8 ----- 3

The 'unknown' factir is a big part of why I think he would do well if he were to enter the race.
I think he should wait though.
