For about the last 6 months i have been getting my partner into star trek. HE already likes TNG so we watched that quite a bit. We then watched a few episodes of voager and the pilot episode of DS9 plus a few season 1 episodes. Then i managed to get him to watch enterprise (before he refused to watch it, said archer looked like his dad...long story) bt eventually i put one of my favorite episodes on "Carbon Creek" followed by "stigma" he saw those and was amazed. So then within a month we watched every episode of enterprise from start to finish in less than a month. When we finished all my enterprise DVDS he was a bit upset and needed his star trek fix. so he started watching my voyager dvds (ive only got season 3 4 5 6 tho). He has watched all of 5&6 and nealy all of 4 so far and i am desperately trying to get him into DS9. He keeps saying he doesnt like any of the characters (but likes kira occasionally). so far i have only found a few episodes he thought was alrigt. The episodes hes seen and his ratings are below:
Emissary - Didn't care much for it
Past Prologue - Didnt care much for it
The Jem'Hadar - Pile of Crap
The Search Pt1 - Couldn't sit and watch it
Badda-Bing Badda-Bang - Pile of crap
Second Skin - Pretty Cool
Destiny - Alright
The Assignment - Alright
Far Beyond the Stars - Alright
The Reckoning - Pretty Cool
I really don't know where to go next. Can you guys help give me some ides for episodes he could watch???
Hes a tough one when it comes to DS9. Most of what DS9 is about he doesnt like in star trek. He hates comedy in star trek, he thinks its just wrong. He doesnt like love storys. He doesnt like Jadzia or Quark. He can't stand the klingons, he refuses to watch episodes about Q or Lwaxanna Troi, he doesnt like O'brien (thinks hes a pedofile), doesnt like ferengi and isnt keen on the whole father son sisko jake thing. Oh and he thinks bashir is a bit of a tw*t.
So guys any ideas?

I find it shocking that your partner doesn't like comedy in Trek and then says he likes TNG and VOY over DS9. DS9 is easily the darkest and most serious of all Trek. He doesn't like Lxawana Troi or Q, yet likes TNG and VOY? Come on! That makes no sense at all.
The episodes you listed are pretty good and the fact he doesn't like them....wow....
However, I'll admit that DS9 starts off rather slow. You need to get him started on season 4 and move on from there. The Dominion War, the Defiant, etc are all really good.
I also recommend the episode "The Visitor". Really moving episode.

I agree with Founder. DS9 is by far the darkest of all ST shows.
Some of my favorites are Kira episodes. The following episodes are awesome.
"Duet" (possibly the best episode of DS9 ever...and its a first season ep!)
"Necessary Evil"
"Second Skin" (already mentioned)
"Past Tense" (a non-Kira episode, but, an *excellent* two-parter)
"Indiscretion"
"The Visitor (a very moving Sisko/Jake episode)
"Starship Down" (a whole crew episode)
"Homefront"/"Paradise Lost" (great political two-parter)
"...Nor the Battle to the Strong" (I just really loved this episode and can't explain why)
"Trials and Tribble-ations" (if your friend doesn't like comedy, he might want to avoid this one, but, it is a great one that takes place in the 23rd Century with Cap'n Kirk!)
"Rapture" (another good political one)
"The Darkness and the Light"
"Soldiers of the Empire" (great Klingon ep)
"Waltz" (great Dukat ep)
"Wrongs Darker than Death or Night"
"Inquisition" (intro S31)
"In the Pale Moonlight" (your friend *must* watch this one if he truly doesn't like comedy in his ST)
"The Siege of AR-558" (excellent war episode)
"Covenant"
"Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" (another S31 ep)
However, those ones are just the ones that stand out. Every episode of the series is great in its own way. Also, the Dominion War Arc and Final Chapter Arc are phenomenal, however, one should watch the rest of the show first.

I'm at a loss for the name of the episodes, but it was in season 2 I think, where Sisko, Bashir and Jadzia get stuck in the 21st century, in a "Sanctuary"? TOTALLY amazing two-parter. If he doesn't like that, then... maybe he's just genetically incapable of enjoying DS9. There can be no other explanation for a dislike of DS9.

That'd be "Past Tense", Season 3. It is one of my favorite episodes of ST, until, I rewatched "Duet". However, they're both still amazing.

He read this post and some of this episodes and he has completely given up on DS9
He hates sisko says hes a pervert and an overactor, the characters are ugly and at the end of the day regardless of the budget the aliens coming from all over the galaxy shouldnt look like humans accept having a few little ridges or spots. Oh and he likes comedy with characters when they interact etc etc but he doesnt like comedy episodes. Oh and space battles do nothing for him.
He said the show is cheesy and american plastic just like fascape and firefly (even though farscape is australian). Unfortunatly i dont think im gonna get him into DS9
