Thu Mar 15, 2007 7:15 am Voyager Movie |
|
I know there are a lot of hopefuls out there that would really like a voyager movie to be made, but to settle any doubts, i want to put forward this statement that i just found at: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112178/trivia
If you scroll about halfway down the page it says: The Paramount soundstage where the majority of the Voyager interiors were located, was condemned and demolished following the completion of filming of the series finale in 2001. The Next Generation crew quarters, transporter rooms, and portions of Engineering were the only sets that became part of the U.S.S. Voyager following the filming of Star Trek: Generations (1994). All other TNG Enterprise sets were demolished.
Disturbing, I know, but I didn't want to get you over excited about the movie though.

Just because the sets were torn down doesn't mean there is never a chance for a movie, it just means they would have to build all new sets again.

your right, it doesn't, but it would take a lot of work to try get the sets right. I guess they could give voyager an "upgrade!

Ok, of any Voyager topic- the no Voyager movie thing is the most depressing......
I believe in always hoping...the actors aren't dead yet! So.. we could still have a chance. Although the writters have really written themselves into a corner--on the whole making a believable story line.....Why are they so stupid?!?!?!?

There never has been and never will be a chance that a voyager movie would be made. The best it can hope for is for the people to make fan ficton books, thats about it.

think about it.... a voyager movie would be soo anti-climatic...
start: they are lost in the delta quadrant
middle: omg, they are lost in the delta quadrant
end: grand finale, they are still lost in the delta quadrant.

I consider the last episode as a movie.
A two part finale has become the standard, and that's enough of a movie for me.
Will we ever see a major motion picture?
I say no.

What about the 2 books that followed the last episode - "Homecoming" and "The Farther Shore". Combine the two and you've got a decent movie.

sorry to burst more bubbles but theres more than that of a reason
the actors contracts were up and although you know the actors who played janway, tuvok, and the doc would probably come back for something, i dont think the others would
also paramount wants to forget voyager as much as possible b/c it was considered one of the worst spin-offs of star trek (it just didnt live up to TNG)
sorry guys, i hate it too
but if something did work i would suggest a tv come back one time episode with new sets again maybe 10 years later a reunion, cause i mean we never found what happened in the real timeline to our beloved family only in the old janways timeline, maybe then stupid things like the doc naming himself joe would not have happened (i hope!!!)

they did enough with the books already, pushed Voyager past its prime. if they really want to go with a good sci-fi movie, they should put effotr into a follow-up to Serenity. Screw Trek movie (which I guess they're already doing with casting Damon in XI)

I disagree. Voyager wasn't the worst spin-off. Of course you can have an opinion that is fine. No harm done. I think all of the star trek series was just excellent. Of course Star Trek could have had better writers for season 6 and 7 of Voyager in my opinion. Season 6 and 7 wasn't all that great, but wasn't terrible.

It's ok Bluerow. Debra was just stating her opinion. So don't take it personally. People are bound to have different opinions.

Yea, I really liked those, though I think that they would have made pretty good movies! (there's always www.fanfiction.net)

A Voyager movie? I doubt it. I think they filled the series with too much crazy outlandish futuristic gear for anymore to be milked at the current time.
Can't wait to see what J.J. Abrams comes up with Star Trek: XI.

I thought that was the point of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Genre.

Of course. Voyager, to me, was great, but it seemed to me at the same time they decided they would take Voyager one step further than any of the other Star Trek Series. Just look at all the Borg technology they got, Seven of Nine, Slipstream drive, the Doctor's 29th century mobile emitter, to just mention some of the things.
Anyways, that's just what I think. But then again, I'm looking at Voyager and comparing it to all the other Star Trek shows throughout the years, and in which case may not be entirely fair - but still. To me, Voyager's source for fresh entertainment other than some Borg action, is, pretty much depleted. And with that being said, I still like it. I just think they overdid it to such an extent that it became unbelievable within the Gene Roddenberry universe of Star Trek, but once again, I must kneel to the fact that, that is only my opinion.
But I never once while watching the show thought to myself 'Voyager would be great, if it starred in a movie.' Something tells me, any notion of a Star Trek Voyager movie got killed, with the final episode, where they get home.

Paramount decided to bring back Voyager into a movie, there are many possible scenarios to be made.
But th emost logical ones is something connecting to the Delta Quadrant. The knowledge and expertise of the Voyager crew would be valuable concerning this.
So whats at the Delta Quadrant that requires a story to tell?
well there's Borg for one.. perhaps we could see the end of the Borg there and then, a conclusion. Or perhaps we see them going back in time to witness the Birth of the borg. Now that would answer A LOT of questions about the Borg. Here we further explore 7's situation as an Exborg and how she deals with Humanity further
Species H4782 (numbers might be in wrong order but heck.. ) return to our space from Fluid Space. Might involve a nast battle en mass. Could be costly there. If Paramount wont do that battle, then the movie would be boring and pointless. No doubt Kes would be in the scene somewhere!
The Invasion of the Hirogen? Halo Game style movie!! pmsl
perhaps a message from Neelix, pleading for help from Janeway, and she must comply, out of respect and friendship. For what Neelix need help for, i have no idea. However, it would be difficult for Voyage to return to the Delta Quadrant even a decade after, unless they miraculously invented the cross-breed form of Trans-Warp and Slip Stream drive :/
Or maybe something entirely new, something totally unexpected. A blast from he past perhaps: The Further evidence of the ancient Federation that existed long time ago, where they finally meet them? (refer to TOS, might be wrong, that might be something to do with First Federation, cant remember))
The possibilties are endless, i only hope the authors get realistic IF they do decided to make a movie.

How's about just a Halo style game of Voyager? Heck, we already have one of Star Wars (Battlefront)

There actually was a voyager FPS for the ps2, and it was okay. The problem is, the ST universe doesnt really lend itself to that type of game very well.
