PostTue Nov 21, 2006 12:29 pm    REB's 3D junk

Hi.

I found this site from another board. I enjoy working with CGI, and figured I would post a few of my works here.

I am using links, as they are large sized, and I dont want to get screamed at by the mods on my first post Sizes are generally (1024 x 768)

First up is the Captain

A Hybrid ship I am working on. I still need to texture it.

A pool table I did
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k195/reb_studios/SciFi-Console.jpg

A couple of shots of a ship I did for a fanfic I am involved with

I hope you enjoy them, and I will post some more of my work when I get more time.

Stunning work. I'm hoping to get into 3-D modelling myself soon, looking at your pieces is certainly showing the incredible possibilities.

Thanks.

I tend to use poser for the figure work I do.

For the modelling side I use a combination of Hexagon, Wings 3D, and also Bryce.
Poser tends to get Dissed to often as a toy. But with a decent lighting rig setup, she can perform well.

I have tried Blender, but found Wings easier to get on with.
As for Max and LW. out of my price range....

Once Daz get it to stop crashing. then yes
I was lucky enough to be a Daz Platnum member, and get it for $1.99. When they first brought it, and released version 2....

A lot of pople say they shold have got Silo instead.
*Shrugs* Cant really complain.... It cost me a song, so i cant really winge And it does handle organics better than wings. But I wouldnt pay full whack they now want for it until they iron out the bugs!!

Also it hates my GFX card I have a onmotherboard built in 32 Meg basic card that came with my PC. It seems to be very picky on version of open GL, and card type.......

Just a thought.

have you tried the demo? Daz have a V2 version on the site.
Before I deided to get it, I did try the V1.2 demo and had a play. But as I said for $1.99 it was silly not to get it, even if I shelved it.

Me again.

A few more of mine.

I was trying for a movie poster look with the Haven model I did. Was trying for a jump to warp speed look to her. The two characters in the background are Sebastian Knight from Knights Haven, and Robyn Barrow again from the fanfic.

Some misc renders I have done in the past.

The first CGI model I ever made. It was a hybrid runabout.

Another CGI model I am working on. A NX variant.

PostMon Mar 05, 2007 3:01 pm    WIP for the Fanfic I am involved with

Have been tied up with RL looking for a new job after being made redundant just before Christmas... (just one of those things... Have got over it now and am moving on).... But have managed to get motivated enough to start doing some more work on the fanfic I am involved with.

WIP for project knights Haven engineering section.

KH's Warp core WIP. Wings 3D and Poser used for the Mesh and render engine....

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k195/reb_studios/WingsWIP.jpg

rendered out with Sebastian Knight The ships captain in the foreground.

Cool! My only bit of constructive critisism would be that in the second one you may want to tinker with the shadow some more - the blue seems a tad flat. Everything else looks stunning

Thanks TrekkieMage. Actually I have had a few more crits and comments on the warp core on other boards. The pattern has a more fingerprint look to it, and less like a true warp core. i need to look at that again. in the meantime i have also been looking at a WIP for the Fanfic i do work for. Its a Starfleet Marine Corp tank. its still very much a WIP. Not sure if this looks to much Starwars, or Battle Star Galatica (Original series) Also its in wings basic format. not textured or rendered off in my usual render engine. Anyway here he is. Thoughts on this as a Starfleet tank would be appreciated.

I'm assuming it's a hovercraft by looking at it...Any chance you could put something in there for scale? It feels clunky, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Looks pretty awesome though
