It was a joke. I recall him wishing that someone would assassinate Chavez, that's all.  Robertson would never assassinate Chavez. Geez.

Okay, well, I'm glad that you were joking He didn't say that he wished he would be killed, but basically that he expected a war with Venezuela and believed that it would be more effective to carry out an assassination. His words were misconstrued by the media, but this isn't about Robertson, of course.
I don't think it's that Chavez is paranoid at all, but that it's him hating Bush and America and wanting to do all he can to hurt both in the eyes of the world community.

Well, to be blunt, America's image in the eyes of the world community isn't all that good right about now, even without Chavez's "help". And, Bush? Well...There's nothing that needs to be said about that particular subject.

Generally-speaking, I understand all that, and so does Chavez. And that's exactly why he's doing this - to expand the anti-American sentiment to a new degree and make more enemies out of the US. That's his goal here.

How many sane people are in Latin America, then? Castro and other Latin American leaders, as well as Ahmadinejad(sp?) in Iran, are taking a real liking to this guy, as are other radical world leaders. That's the only real potential danger Chavez could provide - gathering together an anti-American coalition of nations to stand up against America.

This guy is insane. He definitly seems paranoid. I doubt he's doing this to hurt America's image as the more and more he says, the more and more people stop listening and start laughing.
I think he really believes this stuff...
