I like the older originals. GREAT show. I'm talking not the new regular Law and Orders, but the ones with Brisco. Good stuff. Love the show.

I love Special Victims Unit, but the original is good too (especially the older ones that are shown on Hallmark).

I like SVU too. I think it has the best storylines, and great performances by the actors. The original and Criminal Intent are very good, but I think SVU is the best.
I haven't watched Trial By Jury yet.

SVU hands down.
Can't stand CI, TBJ was okay, and while I respect the mothership I think it's time it left the air. Though I know Wolf is intent on making the the longest running drama...but now SVU is surpassing it's audience.
Interestingly enough SVU started out in a bad spot...pretty much the only things going for it were the L&O stamp and Meloni & Hargitay's chemistry. Eventually the show's was revamped for the second season also adding new characters and the show takes on a more serious tone, but still maintains much more of that emotional growth for the character's that's not present in the original series. And thankfully Hargitay's acting has improved ten fold - to another ironic point she's the only L&O actor to be awarded a major award for their role in the series. (which is even more ironic when the original was almost canned for having no woman in the cast)
...and grown into IMO the best L&O.
SVU is the TNG of L&O

- You sure it wasn't three boys? Then the figured out it was just two that raped her, one that had consenual sex with her? If so then I know what episode your talking about.
The one I'm thinking your talking about would be...
They pick up these three boys, they figure out it was one that had consentual sex and two of them that raped then conspired to kill her. The one that had consenual sex with her admited that on the stand - that he had nothing to do with raping and killing her. Later on...the boy disappears (big surprise as to what happens to him and who did it.)

When's the new season start, or has it started already? Anybody know? (I'm talking regular L&O.)

Hasn't started yet, starts this week.
L&O: Sept. 22
L&O: SVU & CI: Sept 19 (tommarow)
Criminal Intent is now on Tuesday night's right before SVU. (because it was getting it's tushy whipped by Desperate House Wives)

SVU is amazing. I used to watch all the Law and Orders casually, but then my fiancee got me completely hooked, so I watch it very often.

I like SVU and CI equally... if they are both on at the same time it is a tough choice because I like different things on the different shows. I respect Hargitay but I really do not care for either Ice-T or Meloni. I love D'Onofrio and the more complex plots in CI. CI represents a more intellectual series to me while SVU a more emotional one, so it also depends on what sort of mood I am in. In a way, I am also fed up with the lack of intellectual programming which makes me gravitate towards anything remotely intellectual. (So for that reason I am drawn to CI rather than SVU.)

- Thank you! I made it from Mishka's photo from "People's Most beautiful"

- You know, I saw CI on Bravo when it was having a mini marathon (if you call it that, they were playing the same three episodes over and over again). And I think what I don't like about that series is D'Onfrio. I think he's a great actor - but I just dont like his character on CI. And how come all they ever solve are homicides? why didn't they just make them at the homicide squad instead of the Major Case Squad? That's something I never got.
I love Mishka and was so excited that she finally won the emmy! One I think she so deserved - if you've seen the first season of SVU. You'll understand how far she's come, and I really think a huge part of that has to do with Meloni. And of course her hard work. I do love the dynamics so on that show. The partnership between Stabler & Benson, Munch & Fin --I just love them!

Det. Gorin seems to be one of those characters that you either love or you hate. Personally...I love the character. My mother hates the character. Everyone I know either loves him or can't stand him. No one is somewhere in the middle. Since I also have a little issue with lack of acting skills in many actors on TV/movies right now... I obviously love D'Onofrio, and I love the dimension he gives to Det. Gorin.
And there were a coupple I've seen that weren't murders I'm pretty sure btw...
I think they are called major case because they only deal with special circumstances or sprees or organized crime...not really sure.
And I am a fan of Mariska Hargitay so I was as well thrilled when she won, she deserved to.

I heard that on SVU, Stabler is leaving the series (dont know when) and Benson is going on vacation for her kid she just had, and that she will be in episode 1, then back for episode 9. Something from TV guide.
