OTTAWA - Parliament prepared today to revisit last year's decision to make gay marriage legal in Canada, but with much less fanfare and with virtual certainty that the new definition of marriage will be maintained.

				| I hope that certainty doesn't pan out.

				| Excellent! Equal rights abound!
I figured this would happen anyways, so it's not that big of a surprise especially with more Liberals backing it this time than last time and support from other parties.

				| Before this turns into another round of debate on the quite exhausted topic of same-sex marriage, I'll point out that this is much more significant than beating that dead horse....
The Liberal and Conservative MPs were allowed to freely vote on this matter (as opposed to vote for or against it as directed by their leader). This means that opponents of same-sex marriage have really hit a dead-end; there isn't much more they can complain about. A majority of MPs have freely voted not to re-open the issue, which I think is good.

Other groups may continue to lobby about this issue, but I hope we can finally move on to more important things, like, say, healthcare. Military spending. Oh, and that whole "accountability" concept the Conservatives promised us in the last election.

All right, I'm done. You may now leap at each others throats over the same-sex marriage debate.

				| I'm not moving on, until Gay Marriage is legalized in the United States. As it damn well should be.

				| And we're not going to have the "is it right/moral" debate here. Again.
