|
I'm having some problems with my computer. I was trying to fit a router into it today when i noticed that there was a cable loose on my dvd rom drive. So all i did was push it back in and now for some crazy reason its not working anymore! Its not loading any cds and the computer isnt even recogniseing the drive. I have tryed all the slots i can put it into at the back of the drive and still nothings happening. I havent got a clue what to do, could some one please help me. Any help/suggestions would be helpful.
Cheers x

DVD and CD drives do fail. If you've tried reconnecting all the cables and it still isn't working, you may just want to get a new one.

What kind of cable did you put in it? A DVD drive has only 2 cables in it, a power cable and a data cable. If i remember correctly there is another data cable input, for a different type of connector(standard one is the big flat gray one). It would be logical the DVD drive doesn't work if there are 2 data cables connected while only 1 is needed.
