If they made another Trek sries- which they probably wouldn't- what period, ship, station, crew should be used? Should imagine this has been done, but so what...

Simple answer for this one, though I have yet to think of a name for it.

The next series needs to pick up the timeline just beyond STV.

If there is one thing that kept trekkies watching and others (these are the many who the studio want watching to keep the revenues up) is the fact that Star Trek is about the future.

I have posted in another topic that retro sci fi rarely works, and although the last series was watchable, it was not profitable enough.

New characters, possibly going beyond the quadrants that have been explored so far, more than one ship, coming across other species that have their own "federation" and directives. More exploring and making first contact along with entering wars that the crews do not know are happening.

Also story arcs in every season with one or two spanning seasons. I often find that story arcing can make writers more creative with the characters, and make you more interested in what happens to them.

Give Paramount and the franchise a couple of years rest. Doctor Who and BSG benefitted from a break.

The next series could benefit from new high def technology as well.

Voyager proved that when pushed writers go up a gear, I hope that the next series kicks butt!!!!

I'm sure the next series will kick butt...It just needs to be placed appropriately in the future. LOL...but ya, I hope it does too. And this down time, while it sucks for us, is good for the franchise. Just taking it easy...

I would love to see a series with the Enterprise-E, yeah, I can already see how awesome that would be.
