So, who's a closet Trekkie?
Not me. But I don't advertise it, either. At work I've put the tv on DS9 if I'm on break or lunch at that time, and peeps will watch, but we don't sit there and discuss the physics of it all.
Then we have some people on here who I won't name, *cough*, who don't let their friends know they watch Trek. Weirdo.

People know I'm a Trekkie... I figure if they have a problem with it, then screw them. That's part of who I am. Usually if people don't know, then find out, they're surprised... so I'm not obviously one.... apparently.

There is a Klingon patch on my backpack. There is a Klingon patch on my jean jacket. And just in case you missed something, I randomly flash the ta'a at people, especially people who give me the peace sign (my silent protest of living in a community of hippies).

While I don't broadcast it, I'm not "in the closet" by any stretch of the means. I'll tell people I like Star Trek and everything. I just don't go around broadcasting my status to everyone. I'd be much more inclined to do that for Star Wars or for the fact that I'm a political junkee

lol, Arellia. I have no patches on my backback, but no matter, because these traits about me aren't difficult to decipher

Wow I thought this topic was about something else....
No, I'm not in the closet, but I don't advertise it. I don't advertise anything I like minus the Matrix.

I'd have to say no. If somebody asked me if I liked Trek I'd say sure, but it's not as if it comes up, anyway.

People know that in general I am weird in the nerdy, smart sort of why, and therefore assume I have an interest in Star Trek, so I don't have to actually do any work. Often those not familiar with science fiction will confuse Star Trek and Star Wars, of course. I will avidly discuss my interest in all science fiction with anyone who broaches it amiably.

Well, I don't have a giant neon sign following me around saying "SHE'S A TREKKIE *arrow*", but my friends do know I'm a science fiction fan, and my high school advisor even made reference to my Trekkieness at my graduation.

I think everyone bar my psychiatrist knows I'm a Trekkie. I was tempted to wear my TNG shirt to an appointment, but I think I'll stick with my Serotonin t shirt

If it comes up in conversation, I'll say yes. And it was on my myspace page. And some people friend requested me because of it.

I'm not a closet Trekkie, and I don't advertise it either, but that can also depend on your sense of advertising.
I will publicly relate something to Star Trek if it sticks out, I will let my best friend know that I heard phaser blasts in the shower.
I do hear quantum torpedoes firing away during math, but I don't jump up and say it.

The question is "Do you hide the fact that you like/watch Star Trek?"

I'm not a closet Trekker and never was. I used to be a Trekker, back when Voyager was on. From Season 4 - about a year after it ended. Everyone knew, I made it known; in fact I tried recruiting people to watch it. I'd went to two conventions, the second I went to by myself. And at that one, I happened to amazingly scrap up 60 dollars for a Kate Mulgrew autograph. (back in the day a student with no job, 60 bucks is hard to find) And bought everything Trek I could get my hands on.
Nowadays I like Trek well enough to watch it everyday (I have a Season Pass to DS9 on my TiVo), post on this forum and read some fanfiction. And even buy some of the books. But that's really it for me. I'd call myself a fan but not a Trekker. And I don't hide the fact that I do watch ST.

- I understand. I was a closet fan of "The Sound of Music" for about a year. I didn't tell anyone because I'd been obsessed with it before (and drove everyone nuts), and I thought everyone would think it would be too girly. I have a funny story about that, I hitched a ride with my Aunt to Best Buy so I could buy it. I wouldn't tell her what it was - after a while I couldn't find it so she finally convinced me to tell her. When I did she laughed and told me she thought I was looking for Porno.

- Maybe their afraid of what people will think. Or that people will make fun of them. Or like people like Puck, don't think they'd understand.
