Good rhetoric. Now let's just see some action.

I'm not sure where I stand on this one. Not too big on Israel, but it is hard to turn your back on peace. We'll see where this goes...

You're not sure if you like the fact that the Palestinian government is going to recognize Israel as an independent state, at last? Wow. With all due respect, just how anti-Israel are you?

First of all, the issue shouldn't be if Palestine is going to recognize Israel. It should be vice versa. Palestine most certainly is not innocent, but it crawling to Israel seems...pathetic.

On the other hand, if it means peace, then so be it.

As for you last question: very.

That's not the issue, but it's a step forward. This is critical to the peace process. Palestine is not an independent state. No country recognizes it as such, and no treaty has made it such. One of the things that has stood in the way of peace is the fact that the Palestinians haven't recognized Israel for the independent state that it is. If this happens, and Abbas manages to make it so, then that should help the peace process. But even if it does little, it's an important, noteworthy step forward.

Israel is an independent state. There is no doubt about that. Otherwise not only would they not have a seat in the United Nations, but the world wouldn't recognize it as such. Israel does have a seat in the UN and the world does (with a few minor exceptions) recognize Israel as an independent state, and it's about time the Palestinians do as well.

Btw, the Camp David Accords saw Israel trying to give Arafat the most the Palestinians had ever been offered--including the ability to make Palestine and independent state. Arafat, being the evil idiot he was, did not accept the terms that were overwhelmingly beneficial to his people. Why? Because he was hell-bent on destroying Israel, a state which he did not recognize as such. But the point is that Israel went head-over-heals to help make peace, but Palestine would not cooperate and continued to reign terror upon the country.

Let's just hope that with Palestine (hopefully) recognizing Israel, at last, it will start a track towards true peace--true peace which I do think has a chance--albeit slim--of achieving.

Oh, what great news do I have to share from our Palestinian terrorist buddies called Hamas. As the FoxNews.com Breaking News bar currently shows, Hamas Rejects Israel Recognition Option for Palestinian Unity Government Plan.

EDIT: There's a link now: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,215137,00.html
