Have any of you become disaffected with the constant pre-Kirk films, eps and literature? I personally want to hear more of the Titan, a Voyager/DS9 crossover, Kira in government, etc... Any thouhts?

I agree, I don't know why, but I find the TNG/DS9/VOY era to be more interesting (especially DS9).

It seems like the prequel idea was caught from Star Wars, which is rather unfortunate, as it was barely passable in Star Wars. I think people don't really want a prequel series or movie because it messes up our ideas of how the past is supposed to have worked. If we think so and so met at a certain time, or that warp drive was created a certain way, we don't want someone to tell us otherwise.

One problem with a prequel is, all of the work Star Trek authors have gone to to create reasonable ideas for what coulda/shoulda been and explanations for canon inconsitencies, will have gone to waste, as movie writers likely won't take into account all of the novels, and will come up with their own course of events that transpired.

I think this topic pretty well covers "prequel-itis." Locked.
