Uh, Syria isn't on the Axis of Evil. Plus, something would definitely happen to them if they were found to know about this and stuff and not do anything to stop it, so despite all their anti-US sentiment and ties to terror it was the more logical course of action for them.

Syria is in the second tier of the Axis of Evil. The "Beyond the Axis of Evil"
* "Axis of Evil" as described by George W. Bush:
1. Iraq
2. Iran
3. North Korea
* "Beyond the Axis of Evil" as described by John R. Bolton:
1. Cuba
2. Libya
3. Syria

Oh, I'd replace Iraq with Syria in a heartbeat if I were President Bush.

I wouldn't replace Cuba at all. Trust me, it's a danger. Much more than Hugo "talks crap" Chavez.

Hm, the fact I was wrong like totally killed my clever remark! I don't really believe in the concept of good/evil states... just my two cents!

Ah yes, the old "call someone 'evil' because it will definitely get them to agree with you and cooperate with you" gambit. Quite a good choice that one, yes.
Good for Syria for helping stop the attack.
