PostFri Sep 08, 2006 4:27 pm    Schwarzenegger apologizes over remark

Quote:
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger apologized Friday for saying during a closed-door meeting that Cubans and Puerto Ricans are naturally feisty and temperamental because of their combination of "black blood" and "Latino blood." He said the tape-recorded comments "made me cringe" when he read them in Friday's Los Angeles Times.

I have "black blood"? That's news to me...

HEH, leave it to you Andy, to make some light in a situation. IT's good he apologized, though.

Yeah, I can forgive his comment. It wasn't even that bad. Cubans can be feisty.

Glad to see that he apologized. The woman he was talking about cared not at all about it, so yeah. I don't think it was racist, or that he's racist, but I am glad he apologize.

Even if people didn't seem to get offended, he still apologized, that says alot.

Linda Chavez said it's "mucha do about nothing," and she's right. It really isn't much of anything, and almost no one is offended, but as you said, LB, it says something about him to apologize for it.
Clearly someone within the Arnold organization wanted to spite him somehow, and this is what he/she did about it, leaking the tape to the LA Times.
