for me the Borg are easily first (the pre Queen borg, I hate the Queen)

Romulans are a close second, bunch of paranoid SOBs.

Definitely not the Borg!

Species have to add something to the franchoise and right from the start the Borg were ruthless violent lifeforms so they did nbot really add much after that.

I think the Cardassians were the best species and Garak was the most interesting individual during the previous start trek productions.

The Baku are interesting and how they settled where they did and how the Son'a left them (I know it was told but I need more detail) would be worth study.

The Q continuum would be good place to add a human touch in, and of course the irrepressable Q himself.

And I do find the Xindi a species worth studying.

I love the Trill, they fascinate me. Betazoids and Ferengi have my affections too!

Don't hate the queen, but the borg where definitly better without her.

While I like Betazoids and others mentioned I can't see why you would want to explore a community similar to Earth's.

I am a avid researcher and explorer of cultures all around the world from ancient cultures such as Assyrians and the Sumerians right through to todays cultures of Japan, China and all African tribal cultures, just to name a few, and none of them even come close to the culture I have grown up in.

That is one of ST best selling points, the infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

I would quickly tire of exploring space if all I found was cultures I can explore on Earth.

So when you select a species that you would like to get to know better please state your reason
