So I was watching the episode of TNG on SpikeTV called "The Offspring" where Data made another android and it became a female, so it was his daughter. And I remember watching the episode before this, like vaguely. But after watching it again, it was so sad! Does anyone remember this episode?

Yeah. I just watched that one, today, as well. It was sad. Especially when the Admiral tells the rest of the crew that Data worked so hard, all the way to the very end. That was really sad...to me, anyways.

Good episode really, I feel bad though, because despite saving her "memories" Data still lost her, and was not able to expearience the lost.
"The Crew is saddened by your lost, Data."
*sniff* brings a tear to me eye...

That Admiral was a complete jerk in that episode...except at the end. He was gonna take away Lal from Data, just b/c Data isn't human. I agree with Lord Borg....last scene was a tear jerker.

One of the greats. I remember Frakes directed it, and his first and maybe only appearance was later in the story, when he wanders into Ten Forward, Lan (sp?) grabs and kisses him, Data asks Riker his intentions toward his daughter, and Riker realizes he has a certain amount of catching up to do.

This is the quintessential Start Trek episode, similar to the Measure Of A Man.
For starfleet to order any officer to give up thier child is an abhorent and totally reprehensible act (unless the child was being abused in some way).
The episode was, again, more about what Data was, is he alive or isn't he and after this episode we are fortunately given the answer, yes finally after all that bs, he has gone through.

The best episodes tend to be the saddest, like "Darmok" like "Lessons" and "The Inner Light."

You bet! One of my Trek best episodes ever. After all, let's face it: every episode having Data as protagonist is great.
