I am not . I am not wasting my husband's money. Cause it try to say that Jesus had a wife and child if I am not mistaken. If I am, then I apologize. I just wouldn't be interested in it and shocked that Tom Hanks is playing in it. Well, not shocked cause no telling what hollywood actors would do these days for money. That's just my opinion. I could be wrong about it but it just didn't catch my eye , the previews did.

If its anything like the book it will be amazing. I don't care if if some Christians are gonna boycott cause it has some information wrong.
Who cares? Its fiction, its a great read. That's all. Don't read too much into it

I will not be seeing this. It's blasphemy, as far as I'm concerned.

From what I understand, the book isn't intended on being fictional at all.

Then why is it placed in the "fiction" section?
The book is fiction. It just happens to incorporate numerous non-fictional elements that creates a storyline which could be considered "controversial" in nature due to its unorthodox portrayal of Christ. But it's still just a story.
Let's go ban Harry Potter for encouraging witchcraft and Nineteen Eighty-Four for speaking out against government.

Did I say anything about banning it, Tach? All I said was that I'm not going to see it.
Oh, and btw, I enjoy watching the Harry Potter movies.

The book was really good if you take it for what it is- fiction. Anyway, I can't wait to see it. Hopefully it'll be as great as the book was.

Yes it was a GREAT book and it is noting but fiction, so i can't really see what all the deal is about. Its a movie based on a fictional book...

I'm rather intrigued, then, as to why the History Channel would make a documentary about the Da Vinci Code: Fact and Fiction, then. But maybe that's because there may be facts in it as well, but I don't know, and I don't care.
I guess I'll say now about the movie: meh.
My friend defines "meh" as "an expression of indifference," so there you have it.

It has basis in fact, but it isn't advertised as such. Have you read the book?

No, I have not, though my dad has, and owns it. I've really only gotten info on it from the History Channel and a few other sources, which is limited, but I don't want to see nor read the book anyways, so that's why I say Meh, since it's not quite what I thought.

Well,
I have read the book and I found it to be quite intriguing. And I suggest that, before you condemn it to blasphemy (which implies that you understand its text and have a thorough background knowledge of the story), you should read it for yourself.
I am a Christian, and thusly, I do not believe that Christ ever had a mistress or a wife. What is written, whether it be based on fact OR fiction, is still found to be quite interesting in my eyes. The DaVinci Code is no exception. It is a fictional piece with which certain controversial and highly debatable facts were wrapped to make the story appear to be based in reality. That is what I believe, and I may be wrong. Perhaps, if so many people weren't so busy with condemning his novel, and yes...it IS a NOVEL, Dan Brown might have an opportunity to shed some light on his motives behind writing it.
I will see this movie. And I feel ashamed of the FACT that so many other Christians cannot step away from their fear of enjoying a work that is purely fictional. Not to be too off-topic here, but...many people believe that the Bible is also a piece of literary fiction. Christian people, mind you. Does that stop them from reading it? Did it stop them from watching the Passion of the Christ? I should say not.
Anyway....I'm sorry that many of you will not be seeing The DaVinci Code. You are missing out on one of the most original literary-based creations, I must say.
Ah well, on to bigger and brighter things, eh?

It's a great story But that is all it is, a story. A complete work of fiction.
It takes information that has some foundation in truth and it adds an adventurous storyline to it.
I will be seeing it maily because I love puzzles, and the entire story was one big one. It was great trying to figure them out before the characers did.

Basically what I was saying was apparently my impressions were jaded and innacurate. Therefore I just don't really care now, hence the "meh"

i saw it twice, and i loved it.....well, almost everyone said that it's surprising, cause the book is so much better, but i liked the movie as well. and i do not think it's blasphemic....it's not exactly against god, it's against curch...and i think it has the right to be agaist it, i don't wanna offend anyone, but personally I think church is one of the worse things that ever happened to us
